Project CARS – Laguna Seca Reality Check

DigiProst has put together a cool new reality check video, showing off Laguna Seca both in Project CARS and real life.

Footage takes us for a lap around the track, including the iconic corkscrew, as the Project CARS version of Laguna Seca has recently made quite a jump in development progress.

Membership  at Project CARS starts at a one-time payment of 10€ for Junior access, for more info on pricing and benefits of membership please check out the WMD website.

Beautiful! The track and car modellers at SMS are certainly masters of their craft.

OMG…french band JUSTICE are advertising in turn 10?

  • Eric Zehnder

Looks excellent! They’ve been focusing on this track the last week and it really shows.

  • Nathan Bird

It looks incredible! If i had a junior access membership, could i try it out now ?

  • Ricardo Moreira

Yes, 10€ = lots of fun. Only the nords, the 2road tracks, the huayra and both bmw’s are exclusive to team members (25€) and above

Last time I checked, (months ago), the Nordschleife was only available to team members as well.

Once the color of the dirt is adjusted a bit it will be damn near perfect. I was just at Laguna Seca and their item placement is really good! I laughed when I seen that they even modeled the porta-potties correctly.

They have the track pretty close to the real thing. It seems like the hill, after T4 running up to the left hand kink, should have a bit more elevation though. There are also some mountain ranges in the back that shouldnt be there but it’s damn good for winging it. What really impresses me though is how realistic the color palette looks. The first time watching the video I had a hard time telling what was real and what wasn’t.

How can PCARS have all these tracks without license?

  • Big Ron

    magic

For the time being they are not using the name of the track in-game, just the location, though all tracks are in the process of being officially licensed, though that apparently takes several months.
