Is it wrong to say the only thing that truly blows me away with pCARS is the hands?

And before some fanboy comes in, yes, I have it.

    • Alejandro Gorgal

It’s a fair observation, they’ve got an insanely high resolution texture and a poly count that would put many FPS games to shame.

Cars are also mindblowing, I’ve been playing F1 2012 lately and the car quality really let me down, I’ve been spoiled hard.

The one place where pCARS is still very weak is on the foliage though, hoping to see that getting improved eventually.

I wish WMD and SMS a happy and successfull year. It looks awesome as ever. I hope it drives and feels as well as it looks at the end of developement.

I wish you the best too Speed1

      • speed1

Thank you man, the same to you.

hate that flute pan sound, its in every f’kin car…..

  • GamerMuscle

Game seems to be developing nicely , I think there is still a fair way to go with the physics and FFB as allot of the driving feels a bit bland.

Though in terms of raw driving its already way more dynamic than than the
    F1 code masters games.

They are still working on tuning the cars and developing the tires and each monthly build there seems to be progress, if they can make something that appeals to both sim fans and the more general user I think that would be fantastic.

It will certainly be interesting to see what its like when it comes to launch at the end of the year. Regardless even if it was not a massive hit on pc or maybe missed the mark with the “sim nuts” I can picture it selling very well on console.

Second to that I was looking at some on-board you tube videos and found this video that has incredibly good sound quality. If games sounded like this id play them until my ears bled

Hadn’t tried it in a while… ran a bunch of laps in the Z4 @ Spa…. really enjoyed it. The car felt a lot more as if it was connected to the track… you could kinda feel the rubber and the grip through the FFB. It was a more intuitive driving experience compared to iracing (where cars just constantly feel on the edge). It was much easier to catch slides etc. as you new they where coming before they happened.

Much more enjoyable just thinking about getting a good line rather than the iracing experience where you are constantly being overly cautious not to cause a complete 180 spin @40 Mph for almost no reason.

Even with 670s SLI im still not getting 60fps with any real quality… maybe they need a profile or something from Nvidia.

    So far so decent.

probably you’re CPU limited: with i5 [email protected],5Ghz + 570GTX i have 57FPS, everything on ultra+msaa x2+max FXAA so you should be able to get at least 4x msaa at 60fps

      • Phil johnston

        im running @ 6000 x 1080. i have a 4ghz i5 2500 16gb ram.

      • Martino Cesaratto

didn’t think about triple screen, i think you just have to wait some game optimization (i was talking about 1920×1200 res)

      • Phil johnston

Yeah should have mentioned it initially. Still playable and looks fine with lower settings… almost iracing but not quite.

      • Ricoo

Indeed CPU limited. A water cooled i7-3970X at 5GHz is needed to play pCARS smoothly. 🙂

And they plan to release it for the Wii U… lol

  • Phil johnston

Had a few Online Races… Seemed to work well enough… very crashy and bumper car esq. Guess im just used to iRacing where its super serious etc. I wonder will they implement some sort of safety rating type thing to encourage clean driving. Its one of the things i think really sets iRacing apart from a racing perspective. Maybe they could have like Ranked and unranked system so you can go on for a bit of fun or go ranked to build up your clean racing stats or something.

    • pez2k .

There have been a few discussions on rankings and ratings in the multiplayer forum, some of the development team are iRacing players so they know what the pros and cons are. It seems quite likely that it’s something that will be attempted.

    • Josh Desotell

They could do a section where you have the ranking and stuff like iRacing, but then a “non-ranked” session like most games do now

  • Karol Gronowski

im curious when they will finally add some mass to this beautifull cars.

  • Josh Desotell

Game is coming along great. Before they go into adding things like full damage, pit stops, career, etc. I think they need to look at two things. 1) The AI. It’s horrible at a lot of tracks and they don’t seem to recognize you’re there. 2) Contact. The current contact model is perfect for open wheel, but I’m afraid it will prevent bumping and bump drafting in cars like the NASCAR Ford Fusion, V8 Supercars, etc. But still a long way to go to release so I have faith.
