    Too awesome.

  • Ricoo

    I agree, screen 11 rocks seriously. :)

There is no ‘if’ :)    If there’s one thing pCARS doesn’t need its edited screenshots.

Patch 245 works fine here.  Just installed it over my 244 patched version and all is good.

You mean the 11th pictue or picture No 011 ?

can’t stand the game, but I admit it looks pretty damn good. Its hard to imagine videogames reaching an even higher level of visual quality.

     11th :)

I’m impressed that the devs got on last weekend’s crashes so fast. The more I play this, the more immersive it becomes. Not, yet, the last word in physics, but my goodness it’s getting there and the visuals just keep you coming back for more.

Damn! It doesn’t look like a game anymore!

Trackside sound still a bore. Flat as hell.
A pity coz it should be on par with the graphics.

This is supposed to be a sim. Driving vids shud be posted instead of beauty shots.

    Impresive graphics.

And they just released the upgrade to build 246 already to fix the DX11 issues!

I’ve to say I’m really impressed by these screenshots….they looks just fantastic. The only thing I do not like at all is the fake blur that is totally wrong and impossible to achieve with a real fast lens (it looks more like a bad faked tilt/shift lens)…so if it’s true that these are untouched shots, the way they’re postprocessed sometimes looks far worse than a good chopping…:)

My only nitpick, if I had to say one, was how sharp the car reflections are.  If only they could be a little blurry like in real-world.  And on shot No.16 (the orange Huyara), the shot is only marred by the reflections on the spinning wheel rims which look odd. It looks like they are a disc made of glass when they are spinning like that.
Also on the same shot, some light colouring in between the door seam.  Not sure what that is.

That aside, it looks mint !

     That may improve in time.
Hopefully they will also replace the ‘external’ sound from the Cockpit/Helmet/T-Cam view of the Formula A car.   It doesn’t sound right at all :)

I don’t mean to sound silly, but what exactly is ‘special’ about this build? When i read that i was hoping it might have some overall changes to the tyre model, or perhaps wet weather or something else major.

Anyway, it looks stunning as always, but with the currents physics and tyre model combination i find it very difficult to enjoy driving this sim - it just feels strange when you push the limits.

Those things just don’t come into existince between 2 builds, that’s not how it works.

It fixes the game crashing and freezing since the last Team member build.

  • Eric Zehnder

There are a massive amount on YouTube but I’m not sure how much good they’ll do you. Watching a video from anything before build 239 is completely irrelevant and those new videos will be irrelevant next week, etc.

  • Eric Zehnder

The only thing special about this build is that it fixed last Friday’s issues. Not really special.

However, this build actually does include wet weather. Right now the “wet” portion isn’t graphically there but they gave us a first pass plus a tweaker tool to test various amounts of water on the track. I’ve seen some WIP shots of the clouds and wet track and they look amazing. We’ll probably see those within 2 weeks or so.

  • Marco Hooghuis

What did you not get about ‘work in progress’?

The buggy Friday build and 245 appear to be much smoother on the eye. Really impressed that the devs got on this so fast.

  • pez2k .

All of the Formula A sounds are V10-based placeholders. I don’t think any of the cars have final sounds yet.

Impossible to install this one “invalid patch file….” done uninstall reinstall with the 244. Anyone had that problem?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1711429307 Chris Wright

    How excellent. Downloading now.

Well you can’t please all of the people all of the time I suppose, but I think you have to remember that this is a pre-Alpha phase. The potential of this title is something we’ve not seen in this hobby for so very long. I find it hard to complain about anything, seeing as it’s all under development. Well done SMS – awesome job to date!

Try with the new build 246.  Maybe 245 was taken offline.

     Downloading right now, thanks

sry but wut ive proposed, its not in the audio roadmap. so ive said it here and ive said it there. its all up to them to implement it. Ive paid to propose so u cant complain abt that.

Im not commenting abt the correctness of the sound. Its the external environmental effects of the sound. The sound of the car dont just increase in volume as it comes nearer and fades away as it go away. there is natural reveberation that accompanies that. Listens to geardrops near u and 300m away….its not just it reduced in volume.

Ive said this back in gt5 dev and rf2 dev still. No one delivers. And Pcars guys said that will take too much pc power. I told them save some fr the graphics coz good sound makes better graphics. otherwise ur ‘realistic’ cars will sound unrealistice coz of the sound – try staying up 5 minutes to watch gt5 reply with its floor vacuum engine sounds.

  • Big Ron

I hope they´ll do a new wheel animation system. ATM the spokes are just a flat disc and not the real spokes. And every four wheels rotate with same speed and already fast even when the car moves with 2 mp/h.

But I think it´s not high priority atm and they´ll look at it when they do visual optimizing.

  • Big Ron

Highest priority ist getting sounds for all cars ATM and fix hard errors in the system. Optimizing three-dimensional sounds and detailed sound samples isn´t important ATM.

Also, they´ll record original sounds for a lot of cars, so some of them (like the Zonda) are placeholders.

What to say.. such great and beauty visual its so intensive even i only looking it…every motorsport fun must be stuned when looking only on screens, but pls dont make the physics such easy and arcadish… its destroing me..
In my opinion this game and such more realistic physics (FFB aswell) = EPIC STUFF !!!!!
But now, i feel something only when im looking it, not drove some cars in there. Thats go damn frustrating :)
