Project CARS – Barcelona Reality Check

AdrianF1 has put together a really cool reality check video, comparing the work in progress version of Project CARS’ Circuit de Catalunya with the real version.

Located north of Barcelona, the 4.6 kilometer Circuit de Catalunya is a popular race track, hosting the Spanish Formula One Grand Prix as well as several other popular racing series.

Membership  at Project CARS starts at a one-time payment of 10€ for Junior access, for more info on pricing and benefits of membership please check out the WMD website.

Pretty damn close! There’s only a few trackside objects missing in places – but perhaps the track isn’t finished yet. It goes to show that you don’t really need laser scanning for realism of surrounds, at least.

the perspective of many trackside objects are very ouot of proportion and angle. Need more vegetation and some objects too, but in general it is good enough. It is a WIP.

    I’m not convinced. It’s O.K… but.
I mean, even the Screenshot used for this article looks wrong. Has there been subsidence in spain recently?

This track is pretty early stages, not ready for such a comparison IMO. Compare it to the more complete tracks and you can see it’s due for more attention.
