Well, if you look closely you'll find that actually Historix is (much to) stiffer sprung then P&G

Also, the historix sounds are just extremely clipping noisy and distrorted. If some bad youtube clips are the reality for you, then yes, you might find the historix sounds are better.

Also Oversteer and Understeer do not exclude each other and there are so much situations that either of them can occur. Power Oversteer vs Oversteer when coming of the brakes too fast when trailbraking, mid corder under/oversteer, entry under/oversteer etc etc. There isnt a car out there that just reacts one way ALL the times, regardless what you do with it. A front heavy muscle car IS prone to understeer in corner entry, and prone to power oversteer due to its massive power. It doesnt just oversteer all the times.

coperphil: PnG 3.0 will feature the GTC-76 cars. This version is GTC-65 cars.

Welp, it's a mixed bag. First off, the fit and finish of the mod is tremendous, probably the most beautiful mod ever made for GTR2 or rFactor, and that's saying a lot. The models are spectacular, the interiors are amazing, the details are obsessive, and the menu screens and interface are gorgeous

Some of the new cars make it worthwhile--the L88 Corvette, the 250 SWB Ferrari and the GT-350 are all tons of fun.

The tire models are obsessively precise, and you can really tell the difference when you're driving them--they're also definitely 1960s bias plys, in that when the car does get sideways, it's very easy to drive sideways, regardless of the car.

The brakes are also very 1960s--I found jumping into these cars from Historic GT & Touring Car, I had to add at least 50 feet to my braking distances to make the corners.

On the other hand... Historic GT & Touring Car still beats out PnG in several areas. And this is coming from a HUGE PnG fan since the old days, so it means a lot.

HGT&TC is still a more challenging drive--all of the cars in PnG, all of them, even the 427 Cobra, are easier to just hop in and drive than the rFactor mod. Not only that, but many of them that you'd expect to oversteer severely do not, and in many cases UNDERsteer severely, until you start dialing stiffness into the rear of the chassis.

On the one hand, the tires and brakes feel like they're in the 1960s, and that's great--yet the overall chassis feels modern. There's very little body roll in the majority of the cars, they just feel too stiffly sprung, and you don't get the sense that the tires are doing a lot of work.

HistorX also wins, HANDS DOWN, in the sound department. PnG certainly doesn't suck, some of the sounds are quite nice, the L88 Vette for example--but HistorX has the absolute MADNESS down pat, the vibration, the harshness, the scream from every engine just sounds perfectly genuine. HistorX is just better overall at the "immersion" factor, at the feeling like you're actually in that car whipping around the track.

Both mods are awesome, and both mods deserve to be driven and enjoyed--if you're looking for eye candy and an easy day out, play Power and Glory. If you're looking for a challenge and a mind-blowing experience that leaves you sweating, play Historic GT & Touring Car.

Pros: Exterior models, interior quality, obsessive details for each car, tire physics, braking

Cons: Cars too stiffly sprung and seem to handle "too well," sounds of some cars are kind of tame, lack of body roll, still lots of cars missing.
