Alien@work has released new renders of Team GSMF’s Porsche 997 GT3 RSR mod for rFactor. The renders show the Manthey and Land Motorsport entries, two front-running cars of the German VLN championship.
Remarkably, the Land car already sports the 2009 season colors and the render has even been used on the team’s hompage to show off their new livery.
Once it’s finished, the mod will include many Porsche 997 examples from the American Le Mans Series, FIA GT, the 24 Hours of Le Mans an other series.

Looking very good! If only we could have that kind of lighting/shading in realtime in our sims.
Only minor thing that looks a bit strange to me is the exhaust, which looks to be 2d(?). Anyway, this is probably the best car model I’ve seen for rFactor.

2,5 years old…C2D6600….it´s the render setting which makes it fast…it´s a standard render without radiosity, etc……i hate renders which need more than 10mins.^^

heh, You’d hate my stuff then :) On my Quad-core Extreme I render things which still take hours. My car renders (1680×1050) can be between 8 and 20mins depending on reflections, radiosity settings and anti-alias passes (ususally 19).

hehe,
i can only say for me, that i don´t like to wait so long.
…when render takes hours until it is finished and later i see, that materialsettings are not optimal, i must do it again and again….this will take weeks LOL

aah. I have a plugin called FPrime which gives me real time rendering so I dont have to go through that time-consuming process.
