Porsche 911 GT3 RS – Previews

Posted on April 30th, 2009 in

The VCR-Team is working on bringing the Porsche 997 GT3 RS to rFactor, adding a powerful road car to the simulation.

The car will be included in all real life color combinations plus a few fictional ones, also included will be a highly detailed interior model.

The GT3 RS is the most extreme street going version of the 997 available, the car was used as homologation base for Porsche’s 997 GT3-RSR race car.

Very nice. I’ll add this to upcoming rFactor mods I’m looking forward to.

Very very nice stuff… top notch work as seen on those screenies, hope the physics are up par. Kudos guys!

Hm, I’m not sure the GT3 RS is the most extreme version. I always thought this title goes to GT2.

The GT3 RS is the most extreme in the curent line up. The GT2 isn’t part of the lineup right now.

    Sensekhmet and ermax18:
The 997 GT2 is still part of Porsche’s roadcar line-up, and IS the fastest and most extreme Porsche you can get now.
If you don’t believe me, feel free to check Porsche.com or Wikipedia.org.

On topic: This looks VERY promising indeed. I’m looking forward to it!

Sorry, it went away for a while, I forgot it was back. The GT2 that is.

There are rumours that a GT2 RS is in the works.

I believe the significance of the GT3 RS is that it’s the ’street’ version from which the RSR is homologated. If you’re a trackday type – you’ll see more GT3s and RS (among the very well heeled) out there than GT2s.

…anyway, as ayaxr said, I hope the physics are up to snuff. Imagine this (with proper physics) and the C6 mods.
