Peugeot 207 S2000 1.0 – Released

XXX Team has released their Peugeot 207 S2000 mod for rFactor, bringing the popular French rally car to the simulation.

Powered by a two-liter engine that puts out more than 250hp, the 207 is a popular competition vehicle in many national championships and the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

The mod includes the car with two sets of physics, suitable for racing on both tarmac and gravel. A wide selection of skins is available, including both Intercontinental Rally cars as well as fictional liveries.

Hmmm, so yet another single car mod. This time from a group I’ve not even heard of – seems porn related to me :)
So what the hell, its something new to try and I can always remove it if I don’t like it.

    [Present Day]
….ok so just tried this out… Tarmac and Gravel versions.

It’s absolutely bloody awesome ! What a quality mod this is. Everything about it is right and it ticks all the boxes. Car model is excellent. The co-driver option is neat and makes for a more realistic looking replay/video when on rally or gravel stages.
The sounds are superb. Right down to the lovel backfire. It’s so believable.
Physics.. always the sticking point, but I think these guys nailed it. It does have quite a bit or rear end traction but being a short wheelbase car I think you would expect that.
I did still spin it on a tarmac piece of road with a gravel setup though. (just took the corner too fast) :)

Quite a few varied and good liveries too and they released templates at the same time as the mod.

This one is definately a keeper and I reckon this would make for some briliant online racing.

Well done XXX whoever you are :) Top job !

  • Uff

Finally I can drive a 207 in rF, yippieeee! :sd:

Another great mod for this team…

The 206CC is one of the most fun mods for leagues that I have used, now let’s see what this mod is fun rallycross tracks.

Thanks for your work XXX Team!!!!!!!!!!

Beware, this mod has a custom FFB menu that makes changes to FFB settings in your controller.ini file without your input or consent, and this affects the FFB in all mods.

  • ForzaBarca88

FFB with realfeel is really weird, which is a downer for me. If anyones found some magic setting that makes it better please share, but I doubt it. Works much better with LeoFFB atleast. Other than that car model, sounds, etc are very nicely done. Physics seemed convincing enough around UK rally and lienz hillclimb tracks, havent got around to trying tarmac physics. Overall very solid mod and well worth the dl, thanks guys

  • tigeraid

Lots of fun! Very easy to drive, but quite rewarding. Models are awesome. I just changed the awful menu music and I was ready to go.

Having way more fun with the dirt version than the asphalt version though…. I have to ask, is the real life car this nose-heavy? Driving it around various rally-cross tracks, it’s almost impossible to take any jump at full throttle, it always nose-dives and rolls… And the weight distribution can’t be changed…

Damn thats not good. At least not without backing up the original. I hate it when this kind of thing happens. Some people spend ages fine tuning these settings.

Are you sure of your claims? The ffb menu can be found in many mods and i’ve never seen anybody ranting about that before.

  • totorman

r g : stop spamming all forums that menu ffb destroy your rfactor’s ffb please … MenuFFB is only a tool that let you adjust ingame all the values that are in your ini file. If you touch nothing, nothing is changed in your file.

like rfactor menus, but more complete. that’s all

    thx all for you comments

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

    Phew! Glad that’s cleared up.

  • RG

Yes, I’m glad the devs cleared that up. Did they investigate my claim or did they simply react defensively?

Totorman, I think you have a very loose definition of spamming and I don’t care for your attitude, however I’ll try to help you out anyway. your custom FFB menu changed the following in my controller.ini file.

    FFB steer damper saturation=”1.00000″

    changed to

    FFB steer damper saturation=”0.00000″

    and

    FFB steer vibe freq mult=”0.20000″

    changed to

    FFB steer vibe freq mult=”0.50000″

All you have to do to verify this is create a new player and exit the game. Rename the controller.ini file for reference. Now go to the [FORCE FEEDBACK] menu, then go to [FFB 2 >>], then go to [FFB 3 >>], and then exit with changing any settings.

Compare the new controller.ini file to the reference file and see if anything changed.

Ofcourse it changed your .ini, you’re changing it from the FFB menu…..
What toterman said is that it doesnt touch your .ini file if you don’t touch the ingame FFB menu.

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

How do you know it was that mod that changed it ? Do you check the ffb .ini settings every time you put a mod in ?

So to clarify, I should expect the controller.ini file to be modified if I simply enter the FFB menu, but I don’t change any settings??? Brilliant!

  • totorman

    Hi all,
even if you don’t care about my thoughts RG, i do care about yours.
Since the programmer of the FFBMenu is not joinable now, i did a patch for those
not wanting the FFBMenu into the mod. It restores the original rFactor UI for the mod.
It can be downloaded there : http://www.xxxteam.fr/nk/index.php?file=Download&op=description&dl_id=32
and IT DOES NOT DO any mismatch on online games.
If the programmer do find a bug in the FFBMenu, be sure it will be corrected.

    CU.

Well no, if you’re simply going from one menu to another and its changing the ini then yeah its a bug, my bad. Still its nothing major, and easy enough to avoid.

  • RG

totorman, thank you for looking into this. I maintain a backup of my UserData folder, so for me everything was back to normal quickly. My work around was to comment out the OSCFile and OptionsDir overrides in the RFM file.

  • totorman

you can bring back your rfm and install the no FFBmenu patch. You will then be able to play online without mistmatches.

  • Hybridesque

Doesn’t feel like this mod is fully real feel compatible, turn the wheel past 90-100 degrees and it’ll swing to full lock. It feels very weird this car, in Gravel and Tarmac guises :(

  • totorman

XXXTeam wants that maximum people can enjoy the lot of skins that are created around the world.

If the amount is sufficient, we could give a community pack for Christmas.

    Place here : http://www.xxxteam.fr/nk/index.php?file=Forum&page=viewtopic&forum_id=18&thread_id=105#878
all links for your skins that you want to be into this future pack. (only your creations of course)

  • totorman

For information, and to show you that we are not letting all just on without doing anything :
our programmer has detected the bug that RG has signaled to us.
It has been fixed. (All existing mods that use the ffbmenu are of course affected)
The 1.1 version of the 207s2000 mod that will include 30 new skins, new physics, bug corrections, will of course include the patched version of the ffbmenu.
Anyway, we will not remove the download link to the ffbmenu disabler in case you do not want to use this menu addon.
Pack should be out on tuesday night.
