Petter Solberg Tries World Rally Championship – Video

2003 World Rally Champion Petter Solberg recently tried Black Bean Games’ upcoming World Rally Championship title, giving the virtual version of his Citroen C4 WRC car a spin.

The video below shows Solberg in action, including some in-game footage and Solberg’s opinion about the upcoming title. Unlike other race drivers who´ve tried upcoming racing titles, the Norwegian doesn’t praise the title to be realistic but just comments on how he thinks gamers will enjoy it.

Developed by Milestone, World Rally Championship will be bringing all the action of the WRC to the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PC. The game will feature all 13 rally events from the 2010 schedule and cars from the WRC, Junior WRC and the Production WRC class. World Rally Championship is planned to be released in on October 8th 2010.

    Yeah, as if Black Bean would release this video if Petter would have said the game was crap. Of course he’s gonna say it’s a great game…

    I think it’s interesting if you look at the Tv screen when you see a full shot of him racing, you can tell he’s hitting walls and struggling to keep the car straight(not any fault of his I would assume), and yet they cut in the best parts of his driving the game for the full screens… Seems to be a bit of a marketing ploy.

    … Aaaand now I reinstall RBR with a dunce hat on. I actually thought this game would be worth forgetting about RBR… dduuuuuunce.

    That must mean: its good for kids but it’s not my thing.

    ps: I like the sound level between the music and the voice!!!

    It’s a half decent Colin McRae update and that’s what’s been missing from the driving scene for some time.

    Not everything has to be a sim but there is a big difference between the likes of WRC 2010 which can be enjoyed by many but has semi-realisitic physics as opposed to something like Grid or Burnout.

    I recall when i start playing RBR, i was like…shit i suck big time & it took me 1 year or so to get really good @ it. BUt these 2 brothers just pickup RBR the 1st time in this video i presume, like they use to …like in a real wrc car. This is a real testament of hi RBR can he so uncanning accurate in terms of physics & driving feel. IT’ INCREDIBLE!!!
