FVR V8 2010 – Released

FVRFactor has released  their 2010 Australian V8 Supercars mod for rFactor, bringing the current season of the popular touring car series to the simulation.

The mod contains all V8-powered Ford Falcon and Holden race cars and drivers of the 2010 season that receently kicked off at Abu Dhabi and Bahrain.

FVR V8 2010 comes with brand new & scratch-made models, sounds, skins and RealFeel-compatible physics, making it a must try for touring car fans. Initially released for rFactor, the mod will also be converted to several Simbin titles later on.

FSONE 2009 – Toyota TF109 Preview Video

International Pro-Modding has released a new preview video of their FSONE Formula One 2009 mod for rFactor, showing us a complete lap around Spa Francorchamps in the Toyota TF109.

The TF109 was one of the few cars to feature the controversial double-diffuser at the beginning of last year’s season, helping the team to several podium finishes and poles. Despite shwoing early promise, the TF109 will go down in history as Toyota’s last Formula One car as the Japanese manufacturer has left the series at the end of the 2009 season.

Made by International Pro-Modding, FSONE 2009 will include all cars and drivers of last year’s Formula One season which introduced a whole lot of changes to the world championship.


CTDP F1 1994 – New Ferrari 412T Previews

CTDP has released three new previews of their Formula One 1994 mod for rFactor, showing the Ferrari 412T sporting the typical red Ferrari livery.

Driven by Gerhard Berger and Jean Alesi, the 412T was powered by a V12 engine, helping Berger to a victory at the German Grand Prix.

F1 1994 will let you relive one of the most remarkable seasons in Formula One history, a year that provided both thrilling racing and heartbreaking drama – From Interlagos all the way to Adelaide.

Japan Formula 3 4.01 – Released

The rfactor Series Junior Team has released a new version of their very popular Japanese Formula 3 mod for rFactor.

The mod includes more than six season’s of Japanese Formula 3 competition, the new version now includes the Dallara F308 chassis.

Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S – SimHQ Review

The guys over at SimHQ.com have published a very detailed review of Fanatec’s new Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel and their Clubsport aluminum pedals.

The Turbo S is not just Fanatec’s newest product but also the only Fanatec wheel to support both the PC and the Playstation 3 as well as Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gaming console.

Mugello for netKar Pro – New Batch of Previews

Radiator Springs Racing is making great progress with their Mugello track project for netKar Pro, proving it by showing off a bunch of new previews showing the Formula Renault car on track.

Located near Florence, the current 15-corner layout of the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello was opened in 1974. The track hosts annual rounds of the MotoGP and DTM touring car series and is used as a Formula One testing venue, mainly by the Scuderia Ferrari.

World Super GT 2 – Lexus Sound Preview Video

Team RMT has released a new preview video of their World Super GT 2 mod for rFactor 2, letting us listen to the sound of the Lexus SC430 race car at Suzuka.

The SC430 is Toyota’s weapon of choice in the Japanese Super GT series, replacing the Toyota Supra model. World Super GT 2 will bring some of of the most legendary GT cars of the 90s as well as Super GT GT500 class machinery to rfactor 2.

Real-Time Racing – Two New Videos

iOpener has released two new videos, showing us their Real-Time Racing game in action.

The first video shows the Marc VDS Racing Ford GT during the 2009 FIA GT round at Zolder. The Belgian race car was equipped with iOpener’s real-time positioning data technology, allowing thousands of RTR beta testers to race against them from their home.

The second is a comparison video, showing us a lap around Circuit Zolder in the Mini Cooper S both in real-life and in the Real-Time Racing simulation. Right now, the Real-Time Racing game is being beta tested by thousands of community beta testers. If you want to join the fun, you can pre-register for a beta key here.


Historic GT & Touring Car 2.0 – Lotus Cortina Preview Video

rFactor video maker stabiz has released a new preview video of HistorX upcoming new rFactor mod, showing us impressive drifting footage of the Lotus Cortina.

Built between 1963 and 1970, the Cortina was the result of collaboration between Ford and Lotus. The high-performance car enjoyed tremendous success in both rallying and road racing.

Using GT Legends as a base, the Historic GT & Touring Car mod for rFactor proved to be one of the most popular releases for the simulation. The second version of the mod will be bringing many popular racing cars from the past to rFactor, including the Ferrari 330, the Porsche 904, the Aston Martin DB4 and many others.


RealFeel for rFactor – New Version Coming Up

There are plenty of plugins for Image Space Incorporated’s rFactor simulation but arguably none as important as RealFeel.

Made by TechAde and innitially released in 2007, RealFeel vastly improves rFactor’s Force Feedback and is extensivly used by many modding teams.

Now, TechAde has announced to be working on a new version of his popular plugin that is already being tested by the HistorX modding team. If you have any improvement suggestions, TechAde is asking you to please leave them in this NoGrip topic.


Gran Turismo 5 – Assorted Previews

Polyphony Digital has released five new previews of their upcoming Gran Turismo 5 title for the Playstation 3, showing us two renders, racing action at Indianapolis and more.

Gran Turismo 5 will be bringing 1000 cars and over 60 tracks to the Playstation 3, including new features such as damage, weather and day/night effects. There’s no date for either the release of the Japanese or the International versions yet.


Audi R15 TDI – Plenty of New Previews

Polle has put together a big set of edited & unedited previews, showing off Alless’ Audi R15 TDI Le Mans Prototype that will soon be coming to GTR2 and rFactor.

Introduced in 2009, the R15 is Audi’s second Diesel prototype for the Le Mans 24 Hours. The V10-powered car won its debut outing at the Sebring 12 Hours but failed to match the speed of the Peugeot 908 at Le Mans, making it Audi’s first LMP since the R8 that has not won the 24 hour classic at its first attempt.

Targa Florio for rFactor – Four New Previews

6e66o has released four new preview shots of the Targa Florio conversion project, showing the recently-released Opel GT on the legendary Italian track.

Originally created for Grand Prix Legends, kuato, Bud Lucas, Deadeyeski, Baule, TICTOC, 6e66o, Philrob, Motorfx & seventies are working on bringin the legendary Italian track to rFactor. To bring it up to rFactor standards, the track has been equipped with new textures, shaders, a new AIW supporting large fields and much more.

Located on the Italian Island of Sicily, the 72 kilometer track is one of the most epic motorsport race tracks ever used. As safety concerns became an influence in international motorsports, the Targa Florio sports car race lost its world championship status and is still run as an Italian rallye today.

iOpener Announces World Rally Championship Deal

A month ago, iOpener briefly announced to have signed a deal with the World Rally Championship regarding the usage of their real-time positioning data technology in Black Bean Games’ upcoming WRC title for the PC and next-gen gaming consoles.

Now, the deal has been officially announced as players will be able to race the stars of the World Rally Championship thanks to iOpener’s innovative technology.

“This study should take us a step closer to our goal of allowing WRC fans anywhere in the world the opportunity to become part of the action,” commented Simon Long, CEO of WRC rights holders North One Sport Ltd. “Using the internet they would be able to compete in the rally on the same stages against some of the best drivers in the world. If this test is successful then we hope in the future to crown our first virtual rally champion.”

iOpener CEO Andy Lürling added, “Together we aim to configure North One Sport’s systems and iOpener’s patented technology to capture high accuracy live action GPS which can then be integrated into the next generation of WRC video games.  These games will allow fans to drive, co-drive, manage or simply watch the WRC from the heart of the action.”
