Great detail in your review Tim! I have been searching all the net to find a good detailed report on this rig & you have finaly convinsed me to purchase this. Questions>> What do you think the total weight (BUILT) is lbs? Also the shifter platform(s) do they align perfectly lateral to your legs or do they stick away from them, and how tall are you - I'm 6'0 215lbs do you think the wheel & pedal distance will be comfortable to me?

Sorry for all the questions & Thank You again.

Thanks ermax18. :) Yeah, it is pretty lightweight in the frame when in parts, but bolted together it isn't - plus that seat weighs a tonne... I lean in the turns (just started using a Track IR again) and I've never felt an ounce of movement. Like I said in the review... I purposely tried to tip it and couldn't really do it. You can only really lift it, by lifting it up.

Cool setup ermax. I got into racing sims like GTR2 and GTR Evolution and I'm thinking about making a similar racing pit on the cheap. (i still need to decide on a wheel and pedals)I have an arc welder and a pipe cutter at home and I may have some piping lying around. :sd:

Thanks for the review Tim. Very well done. Looking at the design of this thing I don't see how it could be very stable. I built my own cockpit out of 1/2in electrical conduit. EMT is cheap ($7 for a 10ft pipe), easy to buy (any hardware store), lightweight and easy to bend. My cockpit is rock solid. My LCD monitor doesn't even shake. But it wasn't this way until I added some additional diagonal pipes to stiffen it up some more. It is hard to believe this Obutto cockpit doesn't shake and flex like crazy. I could drive a bus over mine. With the seat removed I can pick it up with my pinky finger. It cost about $50 total and that includes waste. The seat came out of my WIP race car so it was free. :) If I did it again I could probably do it for $35.
