Norisring 2009 by Com8 1.0 – Released

Right in time for this weekend’s DTM round on the Norisring, Com8 has released the virtual version of Germany’s last operational street circuit for rFactor.

As with all Com8 tracks, the Norisring comes with beautiful high-resolution textures, amazing off-track details and a realistic track surface with 3d bumps. This is one of the must-have tracks you don’t want to miss out on!

Features

- 2009 DTM layout with authentic adboards and trackside objects
- track surface modeled after reallife data and footage
- custom sky texture / custom announcer sound (see Ambient folder)
- 24 garagespots (online version with 10 extra + extra startlights)
- 12 pitspots / 34 gridspots

Located in the Bavarian city of Nuremberg, the Norisring is 2.3 kilometers long and incorporates two hairpin corners and a long main straight. The track hosts an annual DTM round as well as various support races such as the Porsche Carrera Cup.

    Very nice!!!

  • StarFoXySxv550

    Good stuff.

Where do these guys find the time to put out work of such quality? It’s quite astounding really.
    Well done COM8

  • Filipe Galego

    Looks great!

Can you make a Race07 version?

  • dknine

thanks alot Com8 for your hard work and dedication!
the track is great, love it!

    8-)

  • Carbonfibre

Com8, you’re mods are first-class. It’s an unsung notion, but I don’t think anybody could stand to see you quit what you do now. I hope to see you again in rF2. :)

  • BSR-WiX

Superb track creation. Love the style.   Virtua_LM and Com8 are jsut about the best in the business i guess.

  • kkacper

I must say this is the best this track can get for rfactor! I hope to see you converting it to rF2 and you keep modding there because you’re one of the very best!

  • JGoenR

    Thanks Com8! :)

  • DeDios

Top quality work! thanks really much ;)

  • skombijohn

Cool, i drive almost everyday to work over the roads that make up the track :)

  • Marcel Penzkofer

Layout, atmosphere are perfect, graphics are second to none other german-racetrack for rFactor. Only the bumps are missing completely, the Norisring is the bumpiest track of the whole F3/DTM season in real life :).

  • Roger Owen

    That looks fantastic!

  • InsertDisk2

    thanks com8 !

  • Mitos

Great, right on time!)… THX 1138!

  • Pete A

One word, three letters: WOW. This is really pushing the limits of rfactor! Thanks a lot for all your efforts! ;)

  • Sigmatc24

Thank you so much for this tremendous work :)

  • Alex Hummler

you’re kidding, right? you can even see the bumps on the screenshots above…. try realfeel ffb

  • JohnSc

Great great work. One of the best track for “friendly” races.

  • Riches

    Looks absolutely stunning!!!
By the way if you have some time left dump the ugly brownish simbin spectators and make some of your own.

  • The Biff

Maybe if you have time you can make your own version.

  • GT3_RSR

Argh, those bumps are killing me! :-D

Anyway, another top notch work. But no one expected anything else.

But today I felt how rF is getting really old… we need a new blood, we need the legend to continue, ASAP. Hope rF2 will be a MASSIVE evolution, otherwise anything else would be a major disappointment.

  • Riches

Why should i? This one version is already perfect.
I have enough other projects to do.

  • kimikaze

Yes Riches, you know what we are waiting for to long now :) Any sign from Zandvoort ME? Please, please, please. :)

  • Carlos Rodriguez

I get a CTD every time I try to load the track, anyone can help?
I feel like I’m the only one who can’t try this track out!

The messages say: “GMotor2 Error: Error loading custom/global material BKA”

  • Alex Hummler

bka.dds and grassouttemp.dds are fairly big textures, too big for your graphics card … copy grassouttemp.dds from “lowres terrain” folder to norisring root and get a bka.dds from a different track to get the track to load – or get a new graphics adapter :)

  • Carlos Rodriguez

I’ll try. It’s not the first time my GPU drives me crazy. Thanks for the help Alex.
