Nordschleife for netKar Pro – New Preview Video

The netKar Pro community is in for a huge treat as the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife will soon be making its way into Kunos Simulazioni’s racing simulation.

Originally created by Com8 for rFactor, the conversion is making great progress as the release of the green hell for nK Pro is just a few days away.

Until then, you can check out a brand new preview video below, showing a full lap around the iconic track in the Osella PA 21s hillclimb prototype.

The only thing that looks weird to me are the trees.  Like they’re set to simple transparency…  Otherwise, looks great.  This is going to be awesome <img src=”extra/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-smile.gif” title=”Smile” border=”0″ alt=”Smile”/>

    Looks awesome!!

If there are so many trees to show, simple tranceparancy saves a lot of recources.
As for displaying good multi tranceparency you need 3x times more vertexes (in rfactor that is).
Replacing all the tree object is just a really big amount of work.

In my experience with rfactor, double mat trees have very small impact on fps.  If you were to change every single tree by hand it would be a lot of work, but you can do this with a relatively simple script in max.

I had forgotten how completely dead this game sounded like. No wind, no tires-on-road noise, missing transmission whine no backfiring…

    Also: 1998 called… It wants the overdone distance fog effect back!<img src=”extra/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-laughing.gif” title=”Laughing” border=”0″ alt=”Laughing”/>

    “no tires-on-road noise”

    Sorry but it’s not true

  • NombreyApellido

Don’t be sorry. But it’s true: tire sounds are only triggered when going over curbs and when sequealing. There’s no speed dependant road noise.

    There’s nothing, nothing else.

    Brilliant.  Bellissimo!
