Pixim has relesaed a neat little holiday surprise for the sim racing community, bringing us the 2009 version of the French Nogaro and Charade tracks for rFactor.
Officially called Circuit Paul Armagnac, the track near Nogaro in south-western France was opened in 1960 and has hosted many notable events ever since. Current races hosted on the track include the FFSA GT championship as well as an annual FIA GT round.
Also known as the Circuit Clermont-Ferrand, Charade has hosted four editions of the French Grand Prix between 1965 and 1972 and also served as a filming location for the movie Grand Prix. Back in 1989, the nine kilometer circuit was shortened to four kilometers and has served as testing and racing school venue ever since. Despite playing no role in professional motor sports anymore, the track is still famous for bearing close resemblance to the Nürburgring Nordschleife in terms of challenge for the drivers.

Is the charade track somehow related to charade 2006 version available at rFc?

Two tracks! and the other is Charade!
That still is one of my favourite tracks for rFactor (extreme elevations ftw)
Can’t thank you enough for the update pixsim, it looks brand new again.

As a “tide me over”, I thought I would remind you that there is a Charade (old full circuit) conversion out there by NFR. Cannot recall where I got it from.
In the menatime, I look forward especially to trying the 2009 version of Charade (the 2006 release was one of my faves, due to extreme elevation changes).

Your work is fantastic, here I was thinking that I was way too late to ever give rFactor a fair try. Not anymore, the quality of these tracks makes a purchase and setup worthwhile. This is probably the best present I’m getting this year, and I’m not complaining. Though you might want to fix that donation link.

The old Charade is one of the most neglected old epic tracks, looking forward to it. I’d be very happy if it looked half as good as this Nogaro, but looks like Pixsim is up for graphical excellence. The short charade was an above average-looking track when it was made but the update was refreshing, thans Pixsim for your great work.

I really hope PIXSUM are reading this!
Thank you for your effort. I love Charade, it’s a fantastic track but there’s a significant problem:
Drive Charade at night and you’ll see bright grass and no headlights in mane places.
