Following the Playstation 3 version released a week ago, the second patch for Slightly Mad Studios’ Need for Speed Shift for Xbox 360 has been released.
If you own the Xbox 360 version of the game, just start it up and the game will be updated. The PC version of the patch will be released later tonight, together with the much anticipated five-car DLC pack.
In related news, nVidia has released a new set of GeForce drivers (195.62 WHQL) that have been optimised for Need for Speed Shift so PC & nVidia users should definitely check them out.

I heard a rumor that the 5 car DLC is not coming for PC and is just for consoles, can someone confirm if this is true or not?

Well, it depends who you believe. If you believe need for speeds’ official site, and postings made by EA developers in their official forum, and their blog posts, then 1st December the PC gets a patch and the Team racing pack.
But, the press release that was released to most gaming sites announcing the DLC, didn’t mention the PC version and one site (incgamers) have reported that when they asked their contacts at EA about the PC version that they were told there was no planned DLC for the PC version.
I guess in a few hours you’ll have the definitive answer, but right now I’m assuming the forum, blogs and site have it right and we will get the DLC today in the patch…

Did you fall for rubbish some troll posted? As with most rumours, that’s a load of rubbish.
It’s been said by the devs that the patch and DLC are packaged together on the PC version, should be mentioned in the latest podcast.

The nVidia drivers are great. I saw a huge improvement on iRacing with them (no flickering, stuttering, and about 15-20fps increase with the same settings).

Guys this is at NFS FORUM

“I am actually just having a coffee.
I’m in the process of doing a final check for the patch to make sure the one we put up later today will be fine. I’ve asked the team to check what happens if someone installs the patch on an install of SHIFT which has been modified with any post-launch mods e.g. the physics mod or the night-time racing. I’m pretty sure it won’t install and I want to be able to warn everyone before they install and then have to do a full, clean install.
As part of our anti-piracy system the patches look for unmodified versions of the original executable.
I expect the patch to be live in about three hours.
The patch and the DLC is a single file; it’s about 125meg in total.”
That was one hour ago aprox. so expect the game in the next 2 hours :D

The last message on the EA forum says this:
“There are a lot of questions and threads about the PC patch so I want to answer them all in a single post.
The PC patch will be release today. The web team are currently in a meeting but once they’re out I will get them to update the downloads page and release the patch. I expect this will take about two hours so hopefully the patch should be out about 1pm PST.
Please don’t start any more threads asking about the patch; I will update this thread if there is any more news.”
