EA has released a new high-definition video trailer of Need for Speed Shift, showing some typically action-packed in-game footage.
Developed by Slightly Mad Studios (former Blimey! Games) and distributed by EA, Need for Speed Shift is expected to be released in September 2009 for the PC and all major consoles. A demo of Shift has been announced to be available this summer.

I do not mind gran turismo 5 taking their sweet time to release it, because this allows them to watch every other game come out and improve on what those games missed.

Cool, so you only need to be 7 years old to play this game. Hahaha

outbraking a bugatti veyron I mean seriously!
It just proved that it “just is a need for speed” a quite good one but, and to not start a bash on me: lets hope this is in arcade and not sim mode

Lovely how everyone is searching for the tiniest detail in videos to prove that this isn’t a sim.
I’ll state my opinion when I have the opportunity to test it, not after watching videos from older builds.

This video made me cringe. As for the demo, when is summer officially over? Late august?

All wanting a demo:
1st: Summer isn’t over until August is over by my standards.
2nd: Ever heard of modteams running late with their work?
That applies to game developers also!

You can sense the dread for PC sim racing if GT5, NFS Shift and Forza 3 deliver the goods on the physics side

You really think that if that turns out to be the case that any poster here will admit it? Well besides the GT defense force on loan from GT planet.

Indeed. There’s this feel that if a game with flashy graphics, proper career mode and car collecting/tuning manages to come close to ‘hardcore sims’ in physics department, quite a few people will commit suicide. Emo-simracer?
