Need for Speed Shift – New Screens & Preview

Even though the planned release of Need for Speed shift is still five months away, there’s new material on EA & SMS’ upcoming title on almost a daily basis.

A bunch of new screenshots have been released, showing several new cars. It seems like BMW enthusiasts will be treated especially well as the shots show the E36 and E46 BMW M3, raising the count of confirmed Bimmer models in Shift to four. Still, none of the shots have yet revealed another real life race track as all previews have been showing Brands Hatch so far, alongside the typical Need for Speed street tracks.

In related news, Gamespot has a fairly interesting preview available that compares Shift to semi-simulations such as Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. Furthermore, the preview also confirms more content as the Mclaren F1 and Willow Springs Raceway are mentioned.

Need for Speed Shift will be coming to the PC and gaming consoles in September, a demo is planned to be released this summer.

    That’s an excellent write-up from Gamespot, it sounds as if NFS Shift will at the very least be an interesting semi sim and nothing like recent NFS games and Grid.

    s15 in that same 4th screen – nissan will be represented well too (skyline 2000 gt-r, s14a, s15, 370z so far) :tongue: Great to see them including models, that car enthusiasts really care about…

    last screen almost looks like nordschleife to mee… nice to see an E36 :)
