More and more previews of Need for Speed Shift keep on coming. This time, we get to check out several high resolution previews, showing various cars including the Aston Martin DBR9 and a new shot of Spa Francorchamps. Furthermore, the game’s cover art has been released, as announced before the cover sports BMW Motorsport’s BMW M3 GT2 race car.
Developed by Slightly Mad Studios (former Blimey! Games) and distributed by EA, Need for Speed Shift is expected to be released in September 2009 for the PC and all major consoles. A demo of Shift has been announced to be available this summer.

Looking more amazing all the time. My money is starting to burn a hole in my pocket! This will certainly replace, “Grid” on my HD.

Anti-aliasing looks much improved from earlier shots, the buildings look better too (although composed shots always hide imperfections).
I need to stop treating early screenshots as the final product since clearly some elements were still WIP. Those NFS jaggies have plagued the series since underground imo when things went downhill, hopefully Shift will be a brand new game and as polished as the graphics. I’ve never touched ProStreet but it doesn’t take a genius to spot that the latest NFS games have all been mods of the previous.
Oh and about the cover art; does the word “Retro” come to mind? Very interesting shades.

Okay, time to see some unadulterated gameplay now! C’mon, EA!
