Need for Speed Shift – New Ferrari DLC Pack Previews

EA & Slightly Mad Studios have released a bunch of new previews of the Ferrari Racing Series download pack that will be coming to the Xbox 360 version of Need for Speed Shift on Thursday.

The pack will bring ten Ferrari sports cars to Shift, including the Ferrari FXX, the California,  the 599 GTB Fiorano, the F50 GT and the F430 both as GTC and Spyder version. Furthermore, the pack will add the Ferrari World Tour to the game’s career mode.

Unfortunately, all of this will be limited to the Xbox 360 version of Shift as the DLC won’t be available for the PC and Playstation 3 versions. The Ferrari Racing Series pack will be available starting February 18th and will sell fo $9.99.

I wonder what took them so long, since all of this content was probably done years ago

  • DeadStar

Good Stuff, I have both the PC & Xbox 360 versions so I am in good shape to download the DLC on Xbox 360.

    Whats good?

That’s really unfair only for Xbox 360!!

Sounds like M$ want’s to Push the Box more in Market

I am a PC Gamer myself, but what can one do if the Forza series, PGR series, many fun arcade racers and now DLC for Need For Speed Shift is not on PC. I buy pre-owned stuff for Xbox 360 so that M$ and other console developers do not get my money, but I have to admit that I got Forza 3 Limited Edition at full price.

theres just one reaction that suits EAs decision: refuse to buy the DLC.

  • DeadStar

By the way, I tried the Ferrari DLC and they are absolutely stunningly awesome to drive, especially the convertible ones. . Still hate Microsoft and EA due to their evil schemes.

I can’t see many XBox owners boycotting this to support the PS3 and PC.

If the DLC was PC only I wouldn’t refuse to buy it.

Cars look great but that’s not really a surprise :)

  • f0xx

    They look great.

Would be nice to see some cockpits and a PC dlc ofc :weird:

  • hoboracer

I wouldn’t buy a carpack no matter what platform it’s for. I would gladly shell out some cash for tracks.

  • AFC

Seriously who cares about Need For Speed Shift, just another arcade game, has good grafics but thats it, gameplay is horrible. And who cares about that terrible console devolped by microsoft whith only one goal too make lots of money out of noob people. There are only two games that are exclusive to XBOX360 that i would buy, Forza 3 and Race Pro and if those were available for PC i would buy, but i would never in a million years buy a crapy console like XBOX360 nor pay for XBOX live too play online.

In the official release video, you can get some glimpses of the cockpits.

Hope we will see these cars on the PC in SMS’s next title (“ferrari project”), because they do look

If the game was xbox360 exclusive then it will be ok the DLC to be too, but now it is just a piece of shitty and disrespectful (to your clients – the guys who bought this game for different platforms) marketing strategy. As stupid one too because i really doubt that anyone will actually buy an xbox360 because of some DLC for a not-so-great game anyway. All it does is make fanboys happy and the other people even more hateful. And btw what is with racing games on a console that has support for only two wheels – one hopeless junk form M$ and one that costs more than the box itself?!

  • GonZo

Even if I had the XBox version instead of PC, I still wouldn’t buy this content because it should have been included in the first place.

How old are you? You can’t have had much of a life :)

I got a parking fine the other week which cost me double what a PC game costs and I wouldn’t rate that as anything like my biggest failure.

I’ve bought loads of PC games which hardly got played but I wouldn’t rate any of them as a failure. And Shift certainly isn’t one of them – I’ve had many hours of fun with it.

And trying to get back on topic – those Ferraris look great – but then we knew they would. Lets just hope DLC makes it way onto other platforms in the future. I’m more than happy to spend a bit more on Shift.

    Damn those screens look nice.
Its a shame with the 360 whoring the DLC but I couldnt care less. No matter what other cars I drive in Shift I always end up going back to the GT3 RS or the M3 anyway.

I can tell you the Ferrari FXX is like a plane always trying to take off, no doubt best car in the game and easily worth it the $10 price alone, I am not kidding

It is available since yesterday only on Broken-Box 360

I’m 45 … I have bought it for PC, what a pity … but my best decision was to buy Xbox 360 and Forza 3 !!! Enjoy every time !!!

  • f0xx

A guy named Doug corresponded to Ferrari and asked about this DLC exclusivity

    Their answer:

    “Dear Doug,

Electronic Arts developed a DLC for Need For Speed Shift including 10 cars from Ferrari, thanks to a sub-license with Microsoft, holder of the exclusive Ferrari content on Xbox360 and Xbox Live. Electronic Arts does not have a license with Ferrari and can therefore not develop Ferrari 3D cars for PC, Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii or DS, or other platforms, mobile platforms included.

    Regards,
    Ferrari.com Staff”

Either a some kind of agreement, between these companies, takes place or PC/PS3 owners wont have a Ferrari DLC..

March DLC is probably to compensate this little inconvenience ^^

If you’re 45 you more than likely have a good job, simply buy Shif for the 360 it’s now available for 30 bucks, add 10 for the DLC and you’re set!

I for one think it was well worth the money…. I’ve enjoyed the game.

Cheers for posting this. Well what do you know: a perfectly logical explanation for the situation.

But of course it’s all M$, greedy EA and heartless SMS shafting the worthy PC community. Oh no, wait…
