Following the Porsche & Nordschleife previews posted earlier today, here’s more new material on Need for Speed Shift as EA has released a bunch of new previews, showing the Renault Megane RS.
The racing version of the Renault Megane is powered by 2 liter turbo engine, putting out 250hp. The French car can be seen racing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife below.
Developed by Slightly Mad Studios (former Blimey! Games) and distributed by EA, Need for Speed Shift is expected to be released in September 2009 for the PC and all major consoles. A demo of Shift has been announced to be available this summer.

I think we’re really starting to see the “SimBin touch” in these latest screenshots. Looks very nice indeed, and I’m anxious to try the PS3 demo.
I’m this close (*pinches fingers*) to buying a wheel for my PS3 as it is!

You know I don’t care if its out of the ordinary PC’s reach and it lags like crazy, but I think they should only take their screenshots with forced 16xQ anti-aliasing; just to laugh in the face of consoles and look the best a game possibly can.
Better to do that then photoshopping and false advertising at least.

You don’t need to buy different wheel for PS3, just use G25 as we all do.

rFactor 2 version looks better :P
this is night and day compared to the first “photoshop” screenshots..
Anyways great that NFS and EA trying to spread the sim racing to the bigger audience.

Im not going ot be sucked into the Shift hype bud damn that second shod, as long as i can turn the motion blurring off thats really nice.
I certainly hope the physics are up to spec with what we get in our sims today.

With DIRT2 delayed until DirectX 11 comes out, I hope NFS Shift doesn’t suffer the same fate.
Oh, and, please: we need cars like Renault 5 GT Turbo, Clio Williams, Clio RS, Peugeot 106 Rally and 306 S16, not this monstrosity. I’m dreaming of being able to build a Maxi Clio or 306: 320 of naturally aspirated horse power, 9500rpm and a body that’s a s wide as it’s long

Yeah pity, but Im curious to see the differences between dx9 and dx11 in DiRT2. With Shift it would be nice, but I cant wait no more :P
The game is running with AA off, they should’ve turned it ON :P. Nevertheless the SS rock!
Husky not all ppl are hyping, go to Gametrailers TV, many empty-headed whining kids there asking for another most wanted ^^.
Just the fact that Shift will have a more realisitc side, after NFSU, NFSU2, NFS Most Wanted, NFS Carbon, NFS Pro Street and NFS Undercover, it’s good to return to the old days of NFS in the 90’s, where therewas no freeroaming just closed circuit races with cockpit views and damage :)
