Yesterday’s posting on Speedsims.net’s NASCAR Heat mods proved to be quite popular and here’s more on the free-to-download on- & offline simulation.
While Speedsims focuses on mods for road racing, The Mod Squad is working on the oval side of things with their NASCAR COT Platinum mod. The mod brings all cars of NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series to NASCAR Heat, below are previews of the upcoming 2009 version.
Graphics look excellent, especially if you consider that this game was released in 2000. If you have a thing for oval racing, head over to the Mod Suqad website where the 2008 version of the COT Platinum mod can be downloaded. Their download-database also offers plenty of other NASCAR Heat stuff such as tracks and the base-version of the simulation which is needed to play any mods.

The guys at ModSquad are doing a terrific job of keeping NASCAR Heat at the front of Racing Sims. Blaxman, TWCChad, The Mask plus to many others I can’t remember are keeping this game alive.
