After five weeks of voting, the winners of the rfactorcentral 2008 Mod of the Year voting have been announced. This year, the spotlight was on the newly-introduced gold-awards for best car and track, awarding the winners with a $1000 cash prize.
The result is not really surprising as CTDP’s Formula One 2006 mod won the car award while Virtua_LM’s Mid Ohio Sports Car Course is the track of the year 2008. Both projects won their category in a dominant fashion, with CTDP clinching 22% and Virtua_LM 28% of the votes in each category.
The award is highly deserved by both crews as CTDP pushed the envelope by created the most complete Formula One mod ever while Mid Ohio has certainly become the benchmark for rFactor track makers.

Champcar07 had my vote for top mod. Surprised it didn’t finish higher.

Very deserving winners, and the margin of victory is an accurate indication of their superiority over the competition in 2008. Congrats!

there should also be an award for virtualr.net, because that’s imho the most important thing that happened within simracing in 2008

Very worthy winners, well done CTDP and VLM
Little surprised with the lack of votes for Eastern Creek though seeing how its the benchmark in rfactor for accuracy as far as track surface/layout is concerned.
