rFactorcentral has opened the annual Mod of the Year Award voting, letting the community decide about which were the most popular rFactor mods and tracks of the past 12 months.
This year, the voting is not just about pure popularity as a serious money reward has been added to the vote. The new “2008 Gold Awards” category will reward the teams behind the best mod and the best track with $1000 each!
Eligible are all scratch-made mods and tracks initially released in 2008, all other mods and tracks can be be voted for in the traditional categories with no prize attached. Sadly, the recently released MMG F1 2007 mod is not listed in the gold award section for an unknown reason, ruling out a potential favorite right away.
Keep in mind though that December has just started so don’t vote right away, especially not in the gold award category. The vote is open until December 31th and my personal advice is to wait what gets released until then before you cast your vote on who should receive the $1000.

Good advice to not vote until as late as possible – until after Christmas anyway. There’s certainly a lot of 2008 left
I guess the best way would be to open voting for MOTY08 on Jan 1 2009 but it’s a bit late for that now.

I know who gets my gold vote, starts with a c and ends with no social life.

2007 F1 mod shouldn’t win it anyway. Epsilon Euskadi (to name one) was better.

I still don’t understand why Historic GT & Touring Car isn’t eligible for mod of the year, and Rantam didn’t really explain why either… Oh well, I voted for it under Touring Cars anyway…

@tigeraid:
If you would read the text on the voting page you would see the explanation why the HistoriX mod can’t be nominated for the mod of the year.

Because it’s not “scratch-made” ? Kind of lame.

Well it wouldn’t be fair that scratch made mods compete against mods with commercial content. Especially if there is a $1000 award for the winner.

I suppose. I don’t think it’s true that the HistorX team did “less” work though, not from what I see…
Anyway, the GP2 mod gets my vote, in that case.
