It means that Yanden tried to screw me by lying to me on our forum to get a beta of our mod and I’m tired of seeing good people get screwed.

Oh jesus. Yaden is a maniac who calls himself a CEO because he rules over a mod team and ‘staff’ is similar MMG bullshit. Basically they’re asking you to do their work for them and making it look like a challenge.

More to the point they are known thieves and liars within the mod community.

I´m not taking sites here but this challenge might not be the stupidest idea ever.

A contest like that certainly creates more attention for possible modders than just posting a “help wanted” ad across some forums.

And they do take kind of a risk giving the model out….

I support Dave Ellis, just because MMG proved to be handling wrong, more then just a few times. And sometimes in the most stupid way that you can think of.

And what has this “challenge” have to mean? Everybody can pull a few vertices to another place to make this car look like the FI F1-car. It is much more of a challenge to get real data and make a shape from scratch with that information.
If MMG wants to get even worse models, they really need to go on like this.

Incredible how many ungrateful selfish people there are in this community.
MMG makes some handling errors in the past which I seem to remember they have done their best to put right and people quickly want to just jump in and bury them. I despise attitudes like this.
Some of you really need to get over yourselves.

Looks like everything they do now is going to have people with attitudes swarming all over them. Some people dont deserve modders doing stuff for them for free. they are too far up their own rear.

maybe mmg have made some mistakes but they are human and i think they are strong enough to ignore all this crap from people and carry on regardless.

You remember wrong, and we’re not selfish, we couldn’t care less for MMG’s products and if someone’s in modding for such petty reasons as seeking credit or glory then they should really reconsider.

Selfish? Ungrateful? Spent many years toiling on the CART98 mod, how is that selfish?

Yanden came to me and claimed he was a CART Test Driver in 1997. This proved to be very very wrong when I read his posts and found he was 13 at the time, and the team he claimed to have tested for did not have him as a test driver at all.

You can call me selfish and ungrateful if you wish, but in that case you really need to read up on the definition of the words. But I will not be lied to just to attempt to get the beta of our mod. Disliking Yanden as part of a ‘trend’? Not so. I have valid reasons, and that is just one of them. If you find lying to everyone else about your achievements an acceptable way of doing “business” as a “CEO” then you need a reality check.

I have no issues with this challenge. I don’t think it’s a great idea, but it’s worth a shot I guess. However I never posted that I had issues with the challenge, only that people putting hard work in this should be aware of the issues which have arisen in the past.

Well fair enough but all I can say is that the personal experiences you have had does not in any way take away from the ‘toil’ that has gone into making the MMG 2007 mod. Its hard work and peoples free time whichever way you slice it.
i think people are way too quick to diss others in this community. i am talking in general here.

what exactly do people taking part in the challenge have to be aware of?
MMG is more than just one person. Its not just Yanden. it seems to be quite a large group and if its as bad as people are making out thered probably be noone left in it.
but that is not the case is it?

all i am saying is dont let your personal feelings about yanden dictate how your write about and entire mod group.
thats unreasonable and totally unfair on everybody else in it.

And Yanden is very selfish, MAK MODDING GROUP says it all.

And at least he is the one who makes NOTHING in that group, he´s just playing the boss.

having the mod group named after the person who founded it is nothing unusual. its a bit petty to be picking on that and its no indication of selfishness at all.

yanden seems more the decision maker. there are no rules to say that he has to actively participate in modding.
he decides how things are done in his own mod group. his mod group, his decisions on the direction it takes. seems normal to me.

I have never said anything bad about MMG as a group. It is only Yanden I have had issues with. I have never even spoken to or about the rest of the staff and have the up as much respect for them as I do anyone else in the community.

You know it’s standard fanboy in denial practice to laugh away comments without responding to them, so why am I wrong?

Simply put, you are wrong that MMG are in the modding business simply for the credit or ‘glory’ as you put it.
They do it for the same reason every other mod group does it, its their passion. You dont put all those countless hours of free time in merely for credit. If theres no love for it, you dont put the time in and if its credit you want, things tend to get rushed out which clearly has not been the case with MMG.

You just say what you want to hear and what fits in with your opinion of MMG. You say these things without knowing the people behind the scenes. Totally baseless comments.
If that makes me a fanboy then I`d take that any day rather than being an unappreciative cynical troll.

That’s not what I said at all, in fact I was arguing that searching for glory as a reason for modding was wrong. Do you even read before you get angry? I don’t have to like MMG and I reserve the right to be critical of their products and practices and I don’t see it as selfish or ungrateful as I owe them nothing. I’ve seen and been involved with a lot of MMG’s sketchy practices and their products don’t impress me.

The ungratefulness stems from not appreciating other peoples hard work and that its all done for free for you.
You dont have to like the mod or even download it. Criticize it all you want but at least have the decency to respect the work and time that was put in by others for free.
I have mods that I dont care for and maybe people in them I dont particularly care for either. But damnit I certainly appreciate their efforts. Without them us sim racers would have a much more boring life with the limited crap you get off the shelves these days.

Why should I respect what they put up? I can shit on the pavement for free and people are free to eat it if they want but they don’t have to respect it. There’s no reason to respect something just because it’s made available for free, and the mod community would flourish without MMG’s interference.

Finally, there are plenty of examples of tangles people have had with MMG stealing their work no matter what the eventual outcome was and you’ve been shown examples of their ‘CEO’ and what he considers to be acceptable behaviour. But then, you didn’t want to hear it anyway as you’re not longer going to comment, huh?

I know Compo mentioned respect in his last post but I think he it seemed to be about the appreciation. You can have that without liking the mods.
Respect it earned, appreciation of the work doesnt need to be.
As for stealing of work… well double values here. Seems its ok to steal cars/tracks from original games but as soon as its from someone who’s modded a track that they illegally took from a game, people suddenly have problems.
Anyway, as far as the track issues were concerned its not as simple as you think it was. There was a lot of miscommunication that lead to all that fiasco but it won’t be happening again.
I still consider myself to be quite a reputable person in the community and I hope that is the case. I am trusted with a lot of other peoples beta/wip stuff because they know it won’t leave my hard disk.
So if MMG was, on the inside, as bad as people are making out while not in charge of all of the facts, that I would still be there ? Things have been blown out of proportion like that tabloid press do things. A lot of sensationialism.
The track issues were sorted out to my knowledge and if the people who modded the original tracks (which they ‘stole’ from a game) are still pissed about it, then thats too bad.
I won’t delve in any further but just want to say that its unfair of you to pass judgement or accuse MMG of anything without knowing what went on behind the scenes.
MMG were not innocent in the whole thing, mistakes were made and they`ll admit that. But it wont happen again, be sure of it.

The track issues are still not sorted out. Correct me if i’m wrong but Emac said, that there was no permission given to convert F1C bahrain! Phil didn’t remove the downloadlink afaik as emac wished so the reputation of MMG is not that good and there are enough reasons!

F1mods.com is not MMG website. The Forum was offered to them to use if they wished.

It is my site. Petros and MMG team did not want the tracks released.

I choose to go ahead and release them on my community base website. Call it illegal or not. It is the same if i Posted the tracks on my league site.

MMG I believe is working on getting their own site, which is coming soon.

Again f1mods.com is my site, and I release tracks to suit the MMG mod which my league is currently using. I also release tracks others have given me that suits MMG mod.

I know you guys are not happy with it… This is a non-profit organization. It is not like we are making money off these tracks.

Of course being the head of the ‘rival’ group, your comments are naturally biased against MMG regardless.
Granted things havent been perfect but its all been learned from which is all you can ask really. But if the community would rather bury MMG than give it a chance to recover then that would be very disappointing. Some people are just merciless.

RH was a “rival” group (if you want to use that word),too and we never had any problems in the past, so you should think about that fact ;)

Phil you keep saying that the track’s have nothing to do with MMG and that its your site and your the one releasing it.

Then please explain to me why the tracks have the MMG name in the file system, in game naming system, the MMG logo on the loading screen and on release have the MMG name plastered all over the place.

The problem with MMG for the tracks is all your doing not anybody elses so please stop with the bullshit and accept responceability for your mistakes regarding the track release’s and remove the MMG name from it.

Or what? Are you going to sue me too?

I choose to put mmg name on it. If I wanted to could release a track with CTDP name on it. How about that? I created the trackpack to suit MMG and I called IT MMG track pack, since MMG is not release tracks this year.

You really do seem to have real problems with your atitude. i would suggest going to get a psych evaluation or some reading lessons as your clearly either mentally disturbed or a bit thick.

Also this has nothing to do with CTDP, I may be a member of the team but this is my personal view of the situation not the teams and please stop threatening to release things under the CTDP name, it will just make yourself out to be even more of an asshole than you’ve already shown than damage CTDP.

Some people here…well…1 person here, is a complete disgrace to the community. People like this is what make modders stop in the first place. We work hard to give you guys stuff for free and the attitude is “F**k you all, I’ll do what I want with it”.

Thanks for making the modders feel at home guys. Maybe the stuff we’re working on can just sit and rot on our hard drives in that case.

It´s the same with that “competition”. People send their work to be mentioned last in the readme of THEIR OWN MOD.

Are you forgetting that all the cars in MMG 07 mod, which is really what the mod is all about, are all scratch built. Nothing stolen, nothing borrowed and nothing copied – I`ll back that up cos I saw all the wips as they were being built.
Funny how that never gets a mention. The mod IS the cars and as F1 cars go, they are the best F1 models Ive ever rendered.

This is kinda funny. I release some tracks on F1mods.com and Andy from CTDP goes and cries that the whole MMG mod is illegal or something. Yesterday on MSN Andy says to several people that oh now MMG is stealing CTDP06 Physics. Give me a break. I never even liked CTDP05 or ever touched any of their files.

I am not going to sit here and waste my breath agruing over things that are regarding tracks being released on F1mods.com. You have a problem with that, that is too bad.

Better yet I don’t know what is CTDP problem or issues with MMG. That is why I said there are jealously issues going on here. Andy carefully monitors MMG progress and see something wrong and goes and cries about it? CTDP has no say in MMG work.

These past few months, Andy been badgering me on msn, with stupid acquisition over things, and it has been really bothering me.

Again I am wasting my time here typing all this out, cause I am not going to sit here trying to save face for what happened over this past year, which a lot of people wouldn’t understand.

If your so mad at me then go punch a wall or something, for I have done nothing but return to the community with what they wanted to see.
