    Guys, I messed up.
There are a number of issues with this car that didn’t get noticed before render time.
So I`ll be redoing them all again, albeit in slightly different positions as I dont save each one.
Sorry about that. Hopefully by tomorrow they’ll be online.

dammed racer nice renders,l cant wait for mmg mod league for gtr evo , aldo

Ok the renders are now all fixed and uploaded, plus I’ve added 2 more to make up for the mistake.
So 8 in total now. (Monty might want to update that in the description :) )

oh yeah, and also the car designation is STR2b, not STR3 as I had before.

  • stabiz

It looks awesome. Ah, bring on the day when the cars look like this ingame.

I might get laughed at for saying this but if GRID is anything to go buy, that day might not be too far away. The lighting system in GRID is very good and on occasion what with all the particle effects they have going on, there are seconds on screen where you swear it could be almost real.
Computing HDRI and rediosity at game framerates is gonna really take some hardware. My monster PC churns these renders out in about 8mins each with 17 AA passes and radiosity.
If you can get 8mins down to 30fps, you’re there :) Oh then multiply by 22, add in all the physics calculations etc.. :)
If rF2 can look anything like GRID, F1 will look amazing.

I totally agree. And physics in GRID aren’t that bad either.
I ran some F-3 races without any aids and with my G-25 the results where amazing. Im glad that Codemasters took the license from the crapy Sony.

  • stabiz

I totally disagree, Wil, GRIDs “physics” are beyond bad, and I dont think the F1-game will be any better than Sonys.

  • http://racingrenders.com F1Racer

This isn’t about GRIDs physics though, its about the graphics.
Sure GRIDS’s physics are arcade but for arcade they’re good.
I just ran some laps and I ended up hitting a car in such a way (almost T-Boned it) it sent it into a flip but it really looked as if thats what would have happened considering the way I hit it. None of these tank-cars where you hit AI and they carry on as if nothing happens with your car spinning out only. Then I tried the Tuscan which had a little understeer to it. So they do have nuances like that.
I think GRID got a bad rep. But of that engine had good sim physics in it and F1 cars, it would be the best F1 game we have. Roll on F1 2009 and hope they nail it.

  • Kabrony

i added hdr plug in to rf and with some tweaks it looks incredible i still run 60 plus fps, i tried grid demo so i hope they work out the physics part for f1 2009. racer again renders on wallpaper super clean txs

  • Wil

I respect your opinions but I still hope for a good F1 2009 game. sure that GRID physics are not at sim´s level but in some way GRID still have a kind of “adrenaline imersion”. just in my point of view  .
And seems that Codemasters is aware of the wishes of the simers…
As F1Racer said, lets roll in 2009 and see…

  • stabiz

Yup, hope you are right.
