F1Racer has released four new renders of the Force India VJM01, part of MMG’s Formula One 2008 mod for rFactor. Even though there aren’t lots of news about it, MMG seems to make steady progress on their mod.
Click the picture below to get to all four renders. Following their popular F12007 mod, F1 2008 will bring all cars and drivers of the 2008 Formula One season to rFactor.

does anyone actually care about this mod???
surely the most sensible thing to do would be to work on the F1 09 mod, like CTDP are doing, rather than wasting time on cars which were similar to the 07 cars.
the 09 cars are so vastly different, and i would have thought easier to make because of the much simpler bodywork/no aero bits??
i dont understand why their continuing with 2008 and not 2k9 cars.

Because it would mean to throw away the work they’ve been doing in the previous months. Creating a mod is not “Oh, well, a new season has come, let’s throw away months of work”. It’s more like recreating a season you are interested in and doing it in the best way you can, in a way that represent the team idea of that championship.
Should they start now with a 2009 mod, you would probably come here again in the next 12 months saying “does anyone actually care about this mod??? 2010 has now begun”.

eiwfihaa, that ideology is so flawed I cannot even begin to know where to start.
By your logic, GPL, GT Legends and most other sims should never have been produced because they were at least a year behind.
CTDP should never have brought out their 2005 and 2006 mods.
And to top it all you prefer MMG to stop their 08 mod (because you personally don’t care and do not account for many many more that do) and move onto an 09 mod of which CTDP and FSOne are already doing one.
The year has no matter whatsoever ! What about if someone announced a 1994 F1 mod or a 1990 mod. Are the mod makers only to concentrate on current year ?
You cannot have a complete mod then because you wont have a whole seasons data and only have earlier season cars.
Are you beginning to see how silly what you said is ?
I dont think you have any idea about how modding works or what goes into making a mod.
Its not about picking the current season. You make what YOU want to make. If the public like it too, then thats a bonus.
You need a complete re-think on how the sim community functions because you clearly have no grasp right now.

Finally we got some news.
Their 2008 mod is progressing much slower than 2007 mod.
