F1Racer has released a stunning set of high-resolution renders, showing two cars from MMG’s upcoming Formula One 2008 mod for rFactor.
We get to see the Red Bull RB4 driven by Mark Webber & David Coulthard as well as the Ferrari F2008 in which Felipe Massa narrowingly missed out on clinching the 2008 world championship.
Following their popular F12007 mod, F1 2008 will bring all cars and drivers of the 2008 Formula One season to rFactor. More stunning renders can be found on F1Racer’s website.

NOTE TO ALL: Guys, Ive messed up a little on these renders.. Yeah I’m human unfortunately.
I have the credits wrong on both sets and have to re-do them.
I`ll let you know when I do that and for anyone who might download these shots, can get them again if they want.

Who says MMG are even doing 2009 anyway ? Do you know something we don’t ?
Besides as a 1990 mod was just out not so long ago that means its ok to release the 2009 mod in 2028.
When was GPL released ? That was 1967 season.
So wheres this rule that mods have to be out on the same year as the real season ?
No-one is working to your timetable.

Vkt-2: When can we expect a high-quality mod from yourself?
I’m not a fan of MMG, but I am a fan of Raymond’s work in the team, but people can’t seem to understand that its a tough world out there and there are priorities. Most teams that are in rFactor that have been through many previous games such as F1C + GP4 are usually in full time work and have families or actually want to have a life.
Back to the model. Looks pretty nice and F1Racer has done another great batch of renders. Not too keen on the Steering wheel at present but of course all is W.I.P :)

the model of MMG F1 2008 is quiet simple, but it looks quiet good. It’s better than FSONE 2008, but for the texture, FSONE more lil’ bit better than MMG, but i prefer MMG. For the last, will MMG make a good helmet shape like FSONE ? I hope so.

Just a note on the textures, I use the unshaded versions for renders as the 3D program adds its own shadows. In-game the liveries will have be pre-shaded.
As for helmets, the ones Ive seen look great. But its all a matter of opinion.

Guys Guys Guys… i’ve said so many times that in MMG 2008 you will have ALL drivers helmet version through the season…
Yes, kimi from Monaco is done a quite long time already… we even done Vettel from brasil..

Yes Kimi’s Schuberth helmet is there. In fact I am rendering some helmets for the team internally.
Here is the Kimi test shot I did weeks ago (does not necessarily represent final in-game model).

To clarify something that f1lover said. SandroX did NOT do the RBR, the RBR was painted by Raymond Schram. SandroX only painted the steering wheel of the RBR which we have never before credited in any past renders, which is why it was not credited here on these renders. Credit for such minor stuff doesn’t go on renders otherwise we’d have to have half the side of the render filled with names. The more in depth areas are credited in the credits list of the mod. Considering the steering wheel paint is a very small part compared to the entire paint of the car and cockpit which was done by Raymond, we only credited Raymond.
SandroX being apart of MMG for so long should have known this, and I hope that these issues are taken on MSN in the future and not in public posts. Virtualr.net comments are not for bickering or bashing, they are for expressing views of the topic at hand, so I ask all MMG members to keep their problems sorted via MSN.

Been getting my rfactor news from here for a long while now but just decided to sign up to say MMG’s models/textures never cease to amaze me, brilliant stuff. After all the F2008’s in various mods, it looks like MMG are the ones to finally get the little wings on the monocoque the correct shape, a little pet peeve of mine in other mods :]

All theses Digs at MMG are rediculous. First off they are doing something few of use sim racers can do. They’re bringing us some series like BTCC that no one else has done. And they’re quality is top notch.
Yes they have a few ongoing projects, but CDTP are the same and I never see this much flaming with them. Groups like these are doing our sim racing community proud with mods that are better quality than the original games content often adding new features to the games too.
I personally look forward to hearing news from MMG’s projects and I understand that they have lives to and personal standards they want to achieve with their mods and that requires time.

Just to make the effort to come on and say that another mod is better and raul’s renders are better. Says a lot about your character.
Thankfully all that is just your opinion. I personally couldnt give a toss who or what is better. As far as renders go, I work to a level that suits me, if someone has more time and does a better job, then good luck to them. I’m all for that. I want to see better renders. Its in my interest because then it pushes me further.
I know what I’m capable of if pushed so, please, bring it on!
As for the mods, I, like many others are just glad of the choice. Both mods will be quality work and to nitpick at who is better at this or that is pointless because its all opinion and never fact.

Phil, mmg have brought us NOTHING but cheap talk and one mod in 5 years that has crap physics. Thats not impressive so dont sit there and say they bring top quality because they dont. In 5 years ONE MOD ONLY WITH CRAP PHYSICS. Thats a FACT.
All they do is talk and petros just uses everyone and tells me bullshit so they waste their time with him until they see the light and leave him like most people do thats why no mods ever get finished. People realize petros is full of hot air and they leave.

Danny, what the hell? You’re saying that MMG 07 has bad physics? Obviously you don’t know anything about good physics then. In my opinion MMG 07 is one the best F1 mod for rFactor.
I would like to see you do better job and better PHYSICS.
