Mak Touring Car Legends – First In-Game Previews

Mak Corp have released first in-game previews of their massive Touring Car Legends project for rFactor 2.

The previews show the Ford Falcon EB in various liveries, the car sports the interior of its road-going counterpart until Mak Corp is able to gather more reference material on the racing interior.

The mod will bring iconic touring cars from various series such as the WTCC, ETCC, DTM, BTCC as well as Japanese and Australian Series to rFactor 2.

Instead of focusing on complete seasons of each series, Mak Corp will be combining the most iconic cars from all series into one package.

The first beta of the mod is due to be released in Q1 2014 for rFactor 2, an Assetto Corsa version will follow once modding is possible on the new platform.

Next gen graphics right there ^^

    • F1Racer

I expect they can only work within the limitations.

      • Sway Dizzle

HDR is disabled in these shots.

      • Guest

or Vracing blog doing their usual hatchet job on rf2.

      • Glenn Frost

Dont think so, as they clearly look pretty average in these shots….. hopefully the final product will be much better.

      • http://www.mak-corp.com.au/ MAKCorp

These are just first previews of the first in-game showing. There is still work to be done on these in-game.

      • Realkman666

How did they do the F3 then?

      • F1Racer

        Pretty well as I recall.

    • speed1

Next gen physic engine in use there.

    • Jorge Araujo

      I agree with that. Happy 1999. :)

      Oh… wait…

    • Jim. C

This looks really dated, and I feel terrible for saying that about modders hard work.

      • Anonymous

Well it’s good they now have other platforms to showcase their work, like a directX 11 platform, if I was a modder, looking to move into the gaming industry to showcase my talent, I know which platform I would be modding, when the modding tools become available, big gaming developers have moved on from DirectX 9 years ago.

      • IAg Gai

For a Game ( RF2 ) its already dated and its still officially a beta. That is a worry. It really feels like RF 1.5 and the biggest gripe I have with the game is its graphics which look so dated and as you said DX9 is so old. I downloaded the new Honda Civic car and had a race at silverstone and watched the replay and i shivered in how bad it looked and that was with the graphics set to max on a decent PC. And dont get me started on this Mak Corp lol

      • Anonymous

Hmmm I was playing GPL yesterday and the graphics had no effect on the game play.

      • IAg Gai

Thing is this is 2014 not 2004 we should expect better graphics. There are other racers out there that provide much better graphics. I like RF2 don’t get me wrong but graphically it is very dated.

      • Anonymous

I respect your opinion don’t get me wrong but if the graphics are what they are nobody is saying they expect you to like it or play it for that matter. :)

Anyway Codemasters has some kick a$$ graphics if you prefer.

  • damys

Mak Corp is very active in RF2 addons ! i hope also Enduracers and others will do the same.

    • Anonymous

Enduracers won’t do mods for rF2 for a while, I asked them yesterday about it, BUT they keep their eyes on the new sims (rF2, AC).

      • Brandon Miller

Well Adam, next time you speak with them… ask them nicely to bring the C6R properly to rFactor2. :D

      • Anonymous

Haha, okay. :D They working on a lot of things BTW, but not all of them will be released. Take a look at their Facebook site, if you’d like to watch more.

  • Tom Coombs

Sweet, didn’t know they made mods for Toca Touring Cars 2, I loved that game!

    • http://www.mak-corp.com.au/ MAKCorp

These are just first previews of the first in-game showing. There is still work to be done on these in-game. Dunno what you mean by mods for TTC2, these mods are for rF2 and rF2 looks a hell of a lot better than TTC2.

      • Tom Coombs

Said in jest of course, I was more jabbing at RF2 not being the prettiest. I do like MAK stuff.

      • http://www.mak-corp.com.au/ MAKCorp

Hehe, no worries mate. Its sometimes hard to know how someone is conveying the message just from reading text, can sometimes seem different to how its meant. rF2 has gotten better over time and its getting more and more better. I don’t know why people are constantly jabbing at it. I think people need to stop comparing rF2 to AC or pCARS. rF2 conveys the image ISI wishes to convey, it brings forth a pure simulation and pure moddable title that no other brings, not even AC. The potential of rF2 as an engine is beyond comprehension, its just people don’t see it as not a lot of modders have been able to learn it fast enough to utilize it. Now I know as gamers you can only judge from what you see and feel through driving, but I can assure you that rF2 is by far the best sim out there. We will be modding AC too if the modding abilities are as open as we hope, but rF2 for us is the pure sim. I think people need to stop making comparisons and take it for what it is, a simulation that aims to expand over time.

That is another thing I cannot understand. When ISI didn’t do much for rFactor, people complained that ISI just gave up on the game. Now that ISI has made a game they constantly want to evolve with new content and features, people are complaining that its constantly evolving. Make up your minds guys! I mean seriously, they’re damned one way or another by the community it seems. rFactor 2 is a great title with great potential and I think (don’t know) that 2014 will be a big year for the title. I am very excited to see how it progresses into the sim we all love to enjoy and hope people will give ISI a break and give rF2 more of a chance. That goes for modders too, I see too many mod groups complaining when in reality, it is not too much more difficult than rF1 to mod. It is a bit more time consuming yes, but not overly harder.

Anyhow that’s my two cents. Though I am just generally speaking with my response too, the latter part is not directed to you specifically Tom, but to the readers as a whole.

Hope you will enjoy our mod in any case. Happy New Year and best wishes to you all! :)

    • Realkman666

If you had seen what they are capable of, you wouldn’t say such foolish things.

  • Anonymous

didn’t know rfactor 1 was being relaunched in 2014? (this is a troll comment, but i think its funny, fact)

  • Kev

Not that I am surprised but do you guys who put down other people’s work realize that what you are doing is wrong? Also, FWIW (of course not to you but to others who would be misguided by your insults) both ISI and Mak Corp have employees who are people that put in long hours in large part because they are passionate about what they do and also happen to be some of the most talented and generous people in the industry which makes your snide remarks even more ridiculous and embarrassing.

    • IAg Gai

Um a employee gets payed. Mak has no employees lol

      • MH

…which makes all these negative comments even worse.

Anyway on a positive note, I can not wait for this mod. Great selection of cars!

      • http://www.mak-corp.com.au/ MAKCorp

And how do you know that? We do have paid employees who work on a daily basis on WRS as well as our client work. Maybe you should stop trying to educate people on MAK-Corp and things you have no clue about.

      • IAg Gai

In that case if true ( and its a big IF ) why is it you hardly release anything?

      • http://www.mak-corp.com.au/ MAKCorp

Hardly? Since June last year we’ve been releasing about one mod and/or patch per month. From RACE07 to rFactor 2. We released the Champcar 05-08 mod, the CART 94-95 mods for RACE 07, we then released the updates to those mods, then the Group C mod for rF2, IFS3 which was very much liked by the community and then the F1 Classics Mod. We took a stance to keep our content for rF2 and not for rF1, we stand by that decision. In addition, like I said above, our paid employees work on WRS, I don’t pay them to work on free mods even though sometimes on the rare occasion I’ll have them help here or there. The modding is done by volunteers and sometimes the paid staff like to join in in their own free time, that’s why the work is a lot more different in quality. Some of the modders are not industry standard workers and produce the best to their abilities, we help them learn new methods through our commercial guys and with time they have gotten better and will get even more better. We like to support those with talent to learn more of things they don’t know so they too can produce better content. Sure for rF1 we didn’t release much, but we took that stance long ago to prep everything for rF2 and as I said, we stand by it, now we’re able to get all those things into rF2 and release them on a newer and better platform than rF1. And from what I see, people have been enjoying it all so far.

      • IAg Gai

You have released 5 mods in the last 6 months? Where?

      • http://www.mak-corp.com.au/ MAKCorp

O_O Check our forum and website http://www.mak-corp.com.au

I guess you must have missed them but yes we have mate. You should go check them out. If you have problems registering on the forum (due to the spam checker), let me know and I’ll fix it up for you. :)

      • http://www.mak-corp.com.au/ MAKCorp

Ok apparently my post got removed, was it because I added a url to our website??? Like I said in my previous post. You can check our website and forums out, they’re all posted there. I guess you must have missed them but yes we have released 5 mods. I’m not re-adding the URL because I guess that’s the reason the post got removed.

  • IAg Gai

I still think these guys are trying to do too much and this game basicly proves that. Just trying to do too much. Will end up in the same pile if other mods that they have promised but never delivered ( yes they have actually realised some mods I give them credit for that but come on this is going to far).

    • F1Racer

Just as a pre-emptive heads-up….. if it is your intention just to post this same old recycled MAK comments like another fellow (banned for life) Ozzie of yours has done, then my advice is to take it somewhere else. It’s not going to happen on VR, this place has seen enough of that crap to last a lifetime. This is one issue that I will be strict on.
Just letting you know in case you were thinking of going down that path.

  • Nibiru

Really looking forward to this MAKCorp. You have probably been asked many times but if you need some testers for this I’m more than happy to help out :)

  • Guest

you’re kidding right!? this looks absolutely terrible.. the modelling of the cars looks shocking and completely wrong.. like it should have been released back in 2006 for the original rFactor.. doesn’t say much positive for rFactor2 if this is the quality of mods that are being released for it.. sorry but I don’t see why they are bothering at all.

    • http://www.mak-corp.com.au/ MAKCorp

Actually HDR is off and this is a first showing, a lot of the stuff is not yet done. As to the model of the car, don’t know what you think looks completely wrong. Can you explain?

  • Paul Pantel

Keep at it guys! your doing very well. Don’t worry about negative comments, just simply create content! I know you guys can do it!
