    So how much?

    • Guilherme Cramer

Don’t know, depends how much they’re willing to pay me to play this.

I’m interested in the mod, I just have absolutely zero confidence in the modding group. Luckily, the HistorX team should save the day for us all.

This mod is free, we do not sell our mods.

      • Anonymous

You don’t finish them either, so that makes sense.

  • Anonymous

is that rF2? never seen it look so poor, tbh.

Personally I like shiny. These are materials out of GP3. Don’t mean to insult, just being honest.

Check the Pontiac for GTL? Looks good. At least put decent materials on the cars…….

  • Jos

    even for gtr3 ;)

  • http://www.facebook.com/MAKCorp Petros Mak

These are just ingame tests without any shaders or anything really done for them. I actually haven’t even given permission for these to be released because these are just early in-game shots. The cars look far better in rF1 then the current rF2 quick ingame tests. So don’t go off this as these are very early in-game versions.

    • Anonymous

So are these shots from rF2? I’m having trouble telling.

Sure, the car textures are placeholders but the whole environment is really very flat. The models look good to me it’s just their textures are letting them down so much, along with the game-rendered lighting and whatnot – which looks really poor. I’m having a dig at ISI more than yourselves, perhaps. But then again, as an rF fan I’m expecting your mod group to impress me not underwhelm me. I expect you to show me how glorious rF2 can look not how poor. (Not that I demand it from you! I can’t and wouldn’t ever wish to. Rather I’ve spent some hours playing MMG stuff in rF and I’m ever so grateful. Cheers – and good luck! But make some nice skins eh? And put some clouds in the sky? :D)

      • blockhead

Yes, if you cloned out the car then the track looks just like rf1 as well, maybe worse. Everything looks lit almost equally from all directions.

Hmmm, well at least we know *some* of these projects have reached further than the render stages.

    • eomak

      I would say 0%

      • Anonymous

        Wrong, remember F1 2007?

      • eomak

Thats the only mod they have ever released so ok after that is 0%. Ever since Mak’s eyes became bigger than their heads have they over done things. They need to work on one thing at a time and actually release something else. They keep acting as if they are the biggest mod group in the sim racing community but all I see is broken promises. My advise for Mak if they want us to take them seriously is to work on just one mod at a time and get them actually released.

      • Guilherme Cramer

Hey, careful. Their owner may claim to have had a near death experience again, or that he’s out running Aussie F3s.
ps: there is no such thing as Aussie F3s.

      • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

My patience with this crap, every time there is a MAK thread, is running very very thin. Be a troll somewhere else.

      • eomak

no disrespect but maybe its telling you something about MAK. You may have to think twice before reporting news from them as there will always be people ( like myself ) who cant believe a word that they say. Your smart look at how many mods they have released. Only 1. Maybe stop reporting news from these guys until they prove themselves and everyone else wrong and actually release something. Their track record is very poor and some of us know a lot about MAK. I myself know Yanden and I have met him many a time. He is a proven Lier and VirtualR would do themselves a good favour by distancing themselves from MAK.

      • Anonymous

We’ve had lots of guys coming to these news just to carry out their personal vendettas against MAK.
It is tiring to read the same comments over and over again, it is not new.

      • eomak

I know its tiring but maybe it shows that the MAK group can not be trusted. My comments are not any kind of personal Vendetta agents MAK. Personally it would be great if they could deliver what they promise. My problem is they are trying to do too much. They need to concentrate on less and release things. They did a great job with the 2007 F1 mod but nothing has come out since. Its all been broken promises. They have some good ideas but really need to slow down, and get stuff out before they announce any other stuff such as this mod.

      • Anonymous

You’re right in a certain way. It is extremely inviting to work on different projects. I’m a hardcore Formula One modeler, and I’m interested in many seasons of F1, yet it is difficult to stick with it, because at a certain point, something else catches your interest. With F1 2008 f.ex. all carmodels are finished, all liveries are finished. So I don’t see, why I would not be allowed to work on other models, untill the physics, sound, in-game guy of F1 2008 did their job. And that’s where the problem lies. I didn’t do anything on Classic Cars yet, but the ingame guys, physics guys are the same. They are the only ones that have to focus on multiple mods, and whe you say that is difficult to do, then I can’t agree more. But well – it would surprise me to death if F1 2008 wouldn’t be released by us, as it would be a waste of a lot of work, which IS already finished (that in contrast with many announced mods from the past which didn’t include more than a render of a half finished model … )
Just my two cents. But the mod team of MAK is busy with TWO mods only, of which most of the guys are focussing on ONE of the two only. So, give it a break, and stop the negativism.
Let me add this, if we announce another mod besides F1 2008 and Classic Cars without any in-game material, I’ll allow you to be negative ;)

      • eomak

Whats happened to the full game MAK is doing as well? Im sorry in life it would be great to have everything positive but thats impossible. As a sim racer when ever I see MAK announcing this and that it just makes me think will they? This is how most of your target audience think about MAK. I know a lot of other sim racers and they all feel the same. I do hope you guys release what your doing esp with all the hard work you have done but I just feel you guys try do too much. Esp saying your going to release it on different games. So whats happened to this Full game MAK is doing?

      • Anonymous

        ‘You guys’… Who?
Barely TWO (Me and Raymond Schram) people made all carmodels on the F1 2008 mod, and TWO more made half the carliveries. On top of that, Me and Raymond made the other half of the carliveries.

I don’t live my live in a Virtual racing world, nor do I live it behind my PC. As many other modders, we only do this when we want to. Now, if you would like to have a finished product made in a few days, then so be it.

About Classic Cars, as I said before, I didn’t do a thing on it. MAK announced Classic Cars awhen, half a year ago? And plenty of previews and WIPs have been shown. They’re at a stage already where carmodels, carliveries are finished, and things have been implemented in a whole new modding platform. Yet, it seems it’s not fast enough.

About the full game. What’s with it? It has been announced, previews have been shown, it’s up to you what you do with them.

Maybe it’s good to consider, that as soon as you go commercial, you can’t show whatever you want, and certainly not in stages as early as this.

I know life isn’t always positive, doesn’t mean it should be negative. Some things just should be neutral, and something as stupid and of non-importance as a mod for a game made by a few hobbyists should be one of these. I’m not taking this personal on you; but I take your comments personally. I have brought about 50 F1 racing cars to ISI’s platforms, and everytime again I have to read “When? What? How?”

Not a real motivation, is it?

      • Anonymous

Maybe it’s good to bear in mind, that a personal conflict with Petros Mak has NOTHING to do with anyone active within MMG. It’s very stupid to think that MAK-Corp = Petros Mak only. Announcements in the past have been made, which shouldn’t have been made. But let me tell you this. IF a MMG project came this far that ingame screenshots were shown, it has been released :)

Speaking about track records, I’m more then willing to give you mine, and I dare to put it against many many MANY other rFactor community members ;)

      • eomak

Sigh. I didnt say it was personal though having known Yanden in real life lets me know he is full of lies. But the fact is they have announced a lot of mods ( too many in my eyes) and we have only ever seen one mod. And you say if a mmg project has come this far with ingame screenshots that are shown that its released? Um no that’s what we all want is to actually see a release. I am not bagging MAK but pointing out they keep announcing so many mods when they really need to finish what they have already announced. To me they are trying to do too much and as a sim racer I feel like all they do now days is deliver broken promises. Hey I hope they do actually release something but their track record over the last couple years speaks for itself.

      • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

Look, we all know the back story with MMG. We also know some people have age old issues from back then that they can’t (or won’t) let go. Well that’s up to them, but trolling it on here after all this time isn’t going to be tolerated. It’s ancient history as far as I’m concerned and people need to move on and allow MAK to to the same.
As for VR’s role, I don’t want to speak for Montoya, but I think VR will post news if its news. These screenshots clearly show that progress is being made on a mod so there must be an end game here in releasing this mod. OK so their track record of announced mods to releases isn’t confidence inspiring but maybe they just want a chance now to prove themselves and who are we to deny them that. If this doesn’t come to fruition then you can shout ‘I told you so’ but unless that happens, I think we can do without the age old anti-MMG stuff from times past.

Things have change a lot in the past 6 years and it’s not going to cost you anything to wait this mod out so why not just try and do that and see what happens. Otherwise if and when it does get released you might start a look a little silly.

      • eomak

One thing I take offence to with your reply is calling me a Troll. I am not a troll and im not trolling this post. I am saying what I feel and last time I looked this is a free world where we are allowed to say what we think. Or do you expect only positive posts in here and police anyone that thinks otherwise?

      • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

Hate to burst that bubble but this is not a free world (ask a North Korean). We certainly like to believe it in this part of the world though. However that’s a whole other discussion.
Also you are not allowed to say whatever you want on here because there are rules that apply.
I certainly don’t mind positive or negative posts as long as they are within the rules.

Now… maybe you should re-read my post again and tell me where I called you a troll, because I don’t see it.

What I did say was ‘some people have age old issues’ and those people trolling it on here won’t be tolerated. I did not single you out or even put you in that group of ‘some people’ otherwise I would have said ‘some people like yourself’.

Maybe read a bit more carefully and don’t be so quick to jump.

      • eomak

Sorry but though you did not directly call me a troll you implied it. And as such I took offence to that. A Troll is someone who posts stuff just to cause a argument and most times they make things up just to troll something. I am not making anything up so yes I took offence to your troll comment.

      • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

If it was implied, I would have had no qualms about telling you that. But I’ve already told you that you didn’t need to take offence because it was NOT referring to you. OK !?

      • Guilherme Cramer

It may be wearing thin on your patience but it is the truth. But out of respect for VR’s owner I’ll give it a rest.

      • http://racingrenders.com/ F1Racer

        Thank you.

  • eomak

Here is a idea. How about release something before you guys start annoucning something else.

  • john

lol you have mods planned for every game under the sun including gtr3 which barely even exists. What a joke. Wasting more band width as usual

  • Anonymous

Models look good considering the lack of schaders. It would be nice to have a classic car mod for rF2.
