Com8 has made great progress adding the surrounding buildings to his Mainz-Finthen airfield race track for rFactor.Below are the newest previews, with most of the buildings done Com8 is now concentrating on adding the race-track specific details such as pits, adboards and marshalls.
Located near the German city of Mainz, the former US Army Airfield was used as a DTM venue from 1984 until 1990. Com8’s version will be modelled after the 1989 version of the DTM event, once completed the track will also make its way to GTR2 and GTR Evolution.

Nice previews again!
But I am forced to ask the same question 3rd time. What happened to Race of Champions 2008 track you were working on? Did you stopped that project? Or are you working on it?

Looks good again. But I still have a question, likeJGoenR: What happened with the Nordschleife 2009 project? Will you finish it this year?

The lighting looks especially realistic and well balanced, every object in Mainz-Finthen looks natural. It’s so well done in fact I’m getting an illusion that there’s more detail in those models than there probably is.
Too many rFactor tracks I know have objects that improperly stand out simply because of poor colour blend with the surrounding scenery even if they are well modelled.
