<strong><a href="#comment-18618" rel="nofollow">Ryan Gilmore</a></strong>:
idd, something similar to that has been on LFS forums for almost a year now. However, 941-000045 , is quite interesting. Although it is rather strange they didn’t announce it with the G9,G19,G13 & G35 back at pre-CES09 as IIRC the G13 was only released just over 2-3weeks ago so wouldn’t of been too far out of reach.
Anyway, I might as well jump on the wagon and post my thoughts of what I would like to see in the new wheel.
- Belt driven wheel. The cogs are just too noisy even with no FFB on.
- minimum of 6 buttons + at least one dial which like other G-Series products, has the ability to easily macro binds to it.
- An LCD like on previous G-Series products
I would like to hope for an improved set of pedals with a Loadcell and perhaps a stiffer spring for the clutch. And finally for the shifters to be improved.
For the paddles, perhaps some clutch paddles with the ability for the gear selectors being able to flip in both directions. For the sequential, nothing much needs changing, perhaps a longer stick which is interchangable?. For the H-Pattern, for me the current one seems to flimsy and easily pops out of gear.
O o - one more thing, it would be cool if it was a quick release system that they would be able to provide extra wheels for the different user. Which you could use the same button/lcd etc.. on them. But I doubt that would happen :D

</blockquote>

You also want the wheel to be super expensive? All that adds to the cost of what the wheel would already cost. I would like most of the buttons moved to the wheel itself and make it more like a GTR or Ferrari F430 button layout. Also it would be nice to get better more realistic forcefeedback

If G27 is out soon then i could buy it instead second G25. Fanatec doesn’t interest me ’cause it’s clear that only their pedals are better(Clubsport, i mean) not whole wheel.

</blockquote>

That's hardly clear. The Fanatec GT3 RS will almost certainly be a much better wheel than the G25. The guys from SRT at least thought so, even if the full review isn't out yet.

Here's another pic. Small one but the full wheel.

http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd80/domr07/g275.jpg

And yes it looks a lot like it's the G25 with 6 buttons and different design of the central part. If this is true we can safely call them Lazytech Gee!27.

I'd really like G27 to be bigger and a lot thicker than G25. The pedals are quite good although the Fanatec brake things sounds tempting. And the G25 gearbox needs A LOT of imrovement. It's way too flimsy.

Styling does matter to some of us. And the fact that you claim simmers don’t like the styling of the Porsche wheel shows the opposite of what you say; that it does matter.

</blockquote>

I meant Logitech didn't have to improve on the styling as most simmers prefer the styling of G25 above the Porsche Wheels. I myself prefer the Porsche wheel now.Just because it has more buttons on the wheel and well I like the 'cruise'-wheel feel.

How many spy shots have you seen of any product to be real. Most the time spy shots are fake to tease people into thinking it's the real thing.

lol nice spot.

I don't get the photo, sureley you could just photo the whole thing instead of a tiny part? Also i think it is unlikely that the whole main body of the wheel will be identical to the G25.

Come-on guys... if you look close I think you can see this is a photoshop fake. Look closely, the buttons don't really fit, they're more like stuck on, the black plastic housing has the exact same lines as the G25 and the monitor is setting on a book.... and finally, the wheel is clamped to a desk!

Does all this really add up?

Well this is good all round for me - was considering a G25 so this either means a G27 or a cheaper G25 when the last stocks are sold off cheap! :sd:

Im not convinced the pic is a user mod, unless they have some special tools, metal working skills & are good at stitching leather. Looking at the steel of the wheel, between the plastic hub in the centre and the LEDs, the curve of the metal is quite different to the curve on my g25 right in front of me.

It could be a very good photoshop tho!

Styling doesn’t really matter. A lot of simmers like the G25 above the porsche wheels in terms of styling, just cause the porsche wheel looks like ‘cruise’ wheel with an airbag.

the next wheel would be the G26 not the G27. And yes that picture has been around for ages, its been on the LFS Forums for at least 8 or 9 months.

</blockquote>

I have a feeling it would be named G29 if anything. They have a sort of convention of using odd numbers.

idd, something similar to that has been on LFS forums for almost a year now. However, 941-000045 , is quite interesting. Although it is rather strange they didn't announce it with the G9,G19,G13 & G35 back at pre-CES09 as IIRC the G13 was only released just over 2-3weeks ago so wouldn't of been too far out of reach.

O o – one more thing, it would be cool if it was a quick release system that they would be able to provide extra wheels for the different user. Which you could use the same button/lcd etc.. on them. But I doubt that would happen :D

the next wheel would be the G26 not the G27. And yes that picture has been around for ages, its been on the LFS Forums for at least 8 or 9 months.

lol, this picture is almost as old as the g25 itself. It is a users personal modification to the G25, which has somehow managed to be spread around the net with the tag of G27.

I've been saying this forever. The next Logitech wheel needs as many buttons and knobs as a real F1 wheel. There is a reason they have those buttons in real life, it is functionally efficient.

My next wheel will be a fanatec 911 GT3 with the clubsport pedals unless the G27 has some serious upgrades in the wheel and pedal department. I just don't see them outdoing Fanatec with their next wheel. I love my G25, my biggest issues are the weak pedals (no spacing adjustability.. you have to use them with socks or else your feet will be hitting each other), lack of buttons on the wheel (this has caused many a drive through penalty trying to find my pit speed limiter on my shift attachment) and the wheel itself feels too thin. It needs to wrapped in the same leather material as the G25 but thicker like the momo. Get rid of the shift attachment, make it an optional upgrade you can purchase and spend the savings on upgrading the pedals. Logitech should buy this guys design and transfer the savings of mass production to the consumer: http://www.cannonsimulationtechnologies.com/category-1.htm
