Logitech has unveiled the newest addition to their lineup of racing wheels, the Logitech Driving Force Wireless for the Playstation 3.
Aimed at the casual console-gaming audience, the Driving Force Wireless is made of one piece and designed to sit on your lap instead of being fixed to a table. Comfort is increased even more by the fact that the wheel comes without wiring as the name suggests, 2.4ghz wireless technology gives you total freedom while racing.
While this is certainly nothing for the hardcore sim racer, it might be a good way for casual gamers to make first contact with more serious sim racing. The Driving Force Wireless is supported by both Playstation 2 & 3 titles and will retail for 79€ ($99).
Key Features
- 2.4 GHz wireless technology gives you lag-free control from up to 30 feet away from your console.
- Force-feedback technology recreates bumps, crashes and traction loss with exceptional realism.
- One-piece design reduces clutter, and makes setup and storage easy.
- Expandable lap rest lets you enjoy comfortable game play without keeping you bound to a table or desk.
Below is a video to show you how connecting and using the Driving Force Wireless works.

oh jeez. What is the world coming to. Racing from chase view AND with a wheel that sits on your knees.
Its a sacrilege !
The only thing positive I can think to say is that the wheel seems to be priced ok and I guess wireless is good for…er… less wires.
Its designed for the ‘I wanna play GT5 but I don’t want to get out of bed to do it’ kinda guy.
Oh and the driving footage was edited in later I believe. Stevie Wonder’s name was mentioned.

Well, It’s logitech so the wireless signal won’t be dreadful. But I’ll stick with my DFP until I can afford the G25

man they should have just made the dfp wireless .
since this whole thing is wireless, i presume it requires a/c power or recharging of batteries.. so the force feedback must be weak

Can’t be a/c power otherwise it wouldn’t be wireless. So yeah batteries to buy on top of that. Brilliant innit ?
