Reigning Formula One world champion Kimi Raikkonen was in Abu Dhabi a few days ago, promoting the 2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
While on site, Raikkonen got the chance to test a virtual version of his F2007 race car – using the FSONE 2007 rFactor mod. This makes the Finn one of the most famous drivers to ever check out a simulation and Codex and the whole FSONE team should really be proud of it.

quote – “Is it really an accomplishment, it’s just a promo event for Mubadalla”
I’ll tell you what – you go create a F1 mod and get the current F1 WDC to use it – then come back and tell us how you really feel

erm.. “JUST” a promo event ?
Is it not enough that a sim racing community mod was used in this event and that the current world champion Kimi Raikkonen sat there and played it ?
I’d say thats a pretty big deal.
As a casual mod maker, how do you even top that ?
Having Michael Schumacher come to your house to give you personal feedback on your mod would top it.
So yeah it really is an accomplishment so give credit where its due.

nice job FSOne mod group!
However iRacing has on a daily basis many real world drivers racing it online..yet everytime anything is posted on iRacing all the euro whiners come out. How about showing some respect for all the game makers and getting any real world drivers to participate.

That’s what I was thinking.

Jacques Villenueve, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Joey Lagano, Bobby Labonte, Alex Ardoin, Martin Truex Jr, Brad Keselowski, Alex Gurney, AJ Allemdinger, Alex Gurney, Joao Barbosa. All have driven or are driving in iRacing.
Here is a quote about the current testing of the upcoming Craftsman Truck.
Ian Berwick, iRacing’s vehicle dynamics engineer, thanked the Chevrolet teams and drivers whose input has helped the virtual Silverado’s performance accurately match that of its physical counterpart. “Having access to the race truck itself, as well as the performance data, has been critical to producing a virtual-world duplicate,” he said. “Our testers, who are drawn both from the simracing and real-world racing communities, are pleased with the developmental version we’re running now internally. Our members can be confident that the Silverado they’ll be driving in the simulation will be just like the real-world one.”

Wow, do the iracing fags ever think to leave a post alone?
No they do not. Euro whiners?
As a very American individual, I’ll calmy say. iracing is a great sim. No doubt about that.
I enjoyed it for the brief time I paid for it. But the lack of pickup races and lack of worthwhile content along with many missing features, and poor car selection leaves me with a choice that was easy to make. Can it and come back if it grows. But as the numbers show, its bound to flop.

Anyone else thinking about the David James (football, gaolkeeper) and his lack of form blamed on playing too much console?
Yes, Kimi gave away his title due to playing FSONE until the silly hours since May ;)
