KartSim – New HUD Preview & Development Update
Zach Griffin has released a new development update and preview of his KartSim title.
The preview shows off the title’s HUD as various information will be available to the drivers while being on track.
he Menus are now 95% complete and fully localised, Graphics are now fully scalable and should work on low spec hardware. The DirectX 11 build is around 80% complete but won’t be released until after the DirectX 9 beta. Apart from adding additional features like being able to change the size of the HUD in game as well as toggling the driver and steering wheel on/off, I’m now focusing on MP testing with a growing group of testers and adding various driving aids for those playing with gamepads etc. There are a few other major features/surprises which I won’t mention until the beta is released.
Kart Sim will be accurately simulating the the thrill of driving a racing kart, the starting point of almost every professional racing career. To ensure realism, the title uses an industry standard tire model and a real-time FEM model to simulate the flex of the chassis. The title is based on the Unity engine that is paired up with a scratch-made physics engine developed by Zach.
