Kart Racing Physics in rFactor – Preview Videos

rFactor physics guru Niels Heusinkveld has released two interesting new preview videos, showing off kart physics in rFactor in action.

The videos show a 160kg heavy kart powered by a 125cc engine, according to Niels ISI’s flexible gMotor 2 engine is able to handle kart physics just fine when fed with the right values.

The second video also shows off Niels’ unique high-torque steering wheel that we´ve seen in some of his videos before.

    Looks very good!

  • Alistair Heeley

The Buckmore circuit is so much fun with existing kart mods, would love to get my hands on that one.

  • Clive Lomax

Looks Amazing, would love to have a crack at it…..One thing I would say is that. any Cart ive ever driven, if you slide the cart too much it drops a lot of revs as it slows down, and if it drops out of the poweband it takes a second or two to gain momentum, but maybe it simulates a more powerful Cart than one Ive driven… As I said, Amazing looking Mod! well done  :)

  • Alistair Heeley

Yeah, a big part of learning how to drive a kart for me was avoiding it bogging down in corners.

    Another revolution by Niels

Looks good (as usual). Personally I find it nerve-wrecking to drive kart-tracks. Everything happens so fast. Maybe i’m getting old… ;)

    Great stuff Niels!
    Looks like fun 8-)

The Kart simlated is a 125cc is around 30hp.
Basicly the strongest Class without gears.
    It’s like driving a catapult.
It takes some serious sideways sliding to get the engine stalled.
But any lesser engine would not be this forgiving as this 125cc version.

  • Ricoo

Yes this looks very fun. :)

  • Alex Hummler

good stuff man! looking forward!!! :)

  • Niels Heusinkveld

Hi Guys, very glad you like these videos, but I hate to dissapoint! I just used some existing kart mod for this physics experiment, there are no plans to release it. I am looking into this but don’t hold your breath just yet! It is also not a Reiza car for those wondering how on earth it was a Kart underneath that blanket.. :)

Also the videos are from just one day work, half of the day being lost solving a graphics issue, so I’m sure it can become a lot better too!

  • Jim Slimjim Cassi

Niels… if you like.. you can add them to my Kart mod…lol
or maybe hook up in MSN, skype or one of the many other ones.
    and give me some pointers..

    “It’s like driving a catapult.”

    Priceless.

yeah i agree! looks great! :)
