The_Lonely has released various new screenshots of his Jerez de la Frontera track project for rFactor, showing the recently-added pit-area buildings at day and dawn.
Based on Virtua_LM’s Jerez track for F1Challenge, The_Lonely’s track is just a conversion by name as it has been completely overhauled. That includes a relofted road, new track objects such as fences and trees as well as brand new textures by SLN, resulting in the stunning quality The Lonely stands for.
Located in the Sherry-producing region in south Spain, Jerez has hosted a wide variety of motorsport events since the circuit’s opening in 1985. Hosted events include several Formula One Grand Prix as well as an annual MotoGP round.

That’s a private update of the ISI model for league usage, and will not be released in public. The track, on the other hand, will be :) .

The lighting on that fence looks spectacular – even a bit like rF2. Good old gMotor2 still has some kick in it.
A while ago I though SLN had left the scene, I have all the tracks on his website because somehow putting awesome textures everywhere instantly makes me keep a track installed. I’m so glad you’re still lurking even though your website suggests you stopped, which would have made me unhappy.
What’s wrong with ISI’s Lexus? I think a racing variant is exactly what I don’t want it to become. It’s already one of the best out of a very rare collection of street cars for rFactor, lets leave it that way.

Good looking track, like the textures and the atmospheric haze, gives a good impression. carbonfibre mentioned rF2, it does resemble somewhat, in a good way :)

Screenshots looks very slick. Jerez is I guess what I can call my local track. This looks like a convincing version. Looking fwd to it.

It’s quite an honour to see a quick mention of rF2 in an rF1 track topic here. And while it’s probably aimed at the quality of the Jerez work, I would like to mention that the limits of the trusty old gM2.0 engine have rarely been reached in terms of visual aspects. For instance, we’ve spent a lot of time experimenting with the road surface to make it look a lot more realistic in our opinion. It’s a completely different method than what I’ve seen in any other track out there. There’s still a lot more to be found in the good old engine :) .
And no, I have never left the scene. I just don’t have the time to take the kind of active part in the (modding) community like I used to do. But I’m still here, and you’ll see bits of my work pop up every now and then in projects like this :) .

Hello SLN outstanding job as always. Can’t wait the release :D
But I have another question regarging Spa 2007(http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Spa%202007) it’s been a WIP for ages, from what I know you were doing the textures for the track, is this track still going to be released or it is dead?

I don’t know about Spa. It’s one of those projects that suddenly stopped progressing, and I had no option but to leave the project due to time constraints at the time. Really don’t know about its future.
The only think I do know is that Jerez is a substantially smaller track, so that’s one of those projects I could take on, and I’m glad I did :) .

The downside with me is that every time I load Putnam park, I stop driving and circle the car to watch that road surface from various angles.
Looks like The Lonely and SLN is still a combination that stands two years ahead of whatever everybody else is doing
