iRacing.com – Watkins Glen Coming

Posted on November 21st, 2008 in

November 26th will see the addition of another classical American road racing track to the iRacing simulation: Watkins Glen.

Located in the state of New York, Watkins Glen has played host to almost every notable motorsport series in America, including Formula One. The track is one of two road courses used by NASCAR, hosting both a Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series race each year.

In similar news, iRacing has also added a new format of events called “24 Hours du Fun”. Starting this Sunday, these weekend series will offer racing in a low-pressure atmosphere. Races are held on both road courses & ovals and are open for iRacers of all levels. These races will not affect your safety rating and no points will be awarded.

Nice to see iRacing realize that not everyone who is interested in this game is a hardcore, everyday sim racer or professional racer. The 24 Hours du Fun is a good idea.
