Com8 has made lots of progress with reworking the Nürburgring Nordschleife in GTR Evolution. Based on the original Simbin version, his 2009 version will contain many changes such as new textures, the removal of all fictional advertisement boards and lots of trackside objects. Below are first previews of the Nürburgring 24 Hour Race 2009 layout version of the track. The 24h race uses a slightly different configuration of the track that does not include the Mercedes Arena corners as these are needed for additional paddock space. Aside from the layout changes, the 24h version of course also features the main difference ...
After showing us plenty of model renders, International Pro-Modding has now released a first batch of renders that show a fully painted car of their FSONE 2009 Formula One mod. We get to check out the fully dressed-up Toyota TF109, driven by Timo Glock & Jarno Trulli. The TF109 was one of the few cars to feature the controversial double-diffuser at the beginning of this year’s season, helping the team to several podium finishes and poles. FSONE 2009 will include all cars and drivers of the current Formula One season which introduced a whole lot of changes to the world championship. [gallery=1671]
CSGT has released their World Sportscar Championship 1970 mod for rFactor, bringing one of the most exciting years in sports car racing to the simulation. WSC 1970 consists of almost 30 different car models, including legendary prototypes like the Porsche 917, the Ferrari 512S and the Ford GT40. Also included are the most famous GT cars of that era such as the Ferrari 365GTB, the Porsche 911 and the Chevrolet Corvette. All in all, this massive mod includes 125 cars from the 1970 Le Mans 24 Hours and the World Sportscar Championship season, all coming with RealFeel compatible physics. A detailed RealFeel ...
Team RMT has released new previews of their World Super GT 2 mod project for rFactor 2, showing us the Ferrari F40 GTE on track. Originally planned as an additional car for the rFactor version of World Super GT, the F40 will now be making its way into WSGT 2. As usual, the car only sports basic textures for its first run, looking pretty gorgeous already though. Aside from the Nissan R35 and the mod's safety car, the team is done modelling all the cars in a pretty rapid pace. Successor to World Super GT for GTR 2, World Super GT 2 ...
Virtua_LM has released a bunch of new GTX5 for rFactor previews, showing us various Lancia Beta Montecarlos at Mid Ohio. We get to check out the Italian race cars at day & night, from the inside and the outside. GTX5 will include the high-powered and extreme racing cars of the Group 5 era which were powered by insanely powerful turbo engines and featured very extensive body modifications. Notable cars of that era were the Porsche 935, the BMW 320 and the Ford Capri which managed to win all major endurance races of that time, including the Le Mans 24 Hours. [gallery=1644]

What a lame game… Paying up to 20$ per month for 2 cars and a few tracks? Also pay for every other car 15$? I’ll pass on these laser scanned tracks and stick to rFactor…

I also agree. It’s just too expensive. I hope as a community sim racers will pass on this just to show that subscription fees will not work for racing games.

Idea is fantastic, the pricing is ridiculous.
These people need to come down to planet earth.
Its a shame because only a “rich” select few will bother with this, but there again maybe Kaemmer and his mates think they are too good for Joe Public anyway and they only want a select few to play this sim.

“Go back to your rFactor MOD…”
“the cheapskate mentality that seems to reign the simracing community these days when it comes to software prices.”

Oooooo, beam me up snotty! After reading some of the comments by people I can only describe as “iRacing sim” snobs, I think I will steer well away from this product.
These people obviously think that they are a cut above others because they have more money than some.
Also the cheapskate comments by a member of RSC’s admin are a disgrace. IRacing is welcome to him and his “type”!

Montoya…if you would like an invite to iRacing let me know. I will reserve one for you if you want it.

The think that is different about iRacing is that they are offering a service. They are running all the servers, webpage, bandwidth, car models and tracks. Sure you have to pay extra for tracks but from the looks of it the tracks will set a new standard. If isn’t cheap to pay all the licensing fees to “officially” laser scan a new track. Clearly I would rather not pay a subscription but I fully understand that there is an ongoing cost the iRacing will have. I plan to buy into iRacing. If I feel like they aren’t providing the extra content then I may drop my sub. I am not just going to write it off without trying it though. That is just silly. And no I am not a snob. I just know how much enjoyment I get out of SimRacing and is totally worth $18 to me. Now, can I get an invite? hahaha

Sure iRacing isn’t made for the people who are racing rarely. But it’s the same like pay-TV or MMORPG games. You only pay the monthly subscription if your interest is big enough and your are willing to use it. To judge this sim before it’s even released is nonsense. Can’t wait to take a first ride. Someone invite me plz  ?

I actually thought it looked like a really good concept, so I suppose I’m very much in the minority here.
I don’t want to come off as being greedy or anything, but could someone please set me up with an invite? I’m fascinated by whats been done with it and I’d quite like to try it out, irregardless of the subscription cost.
jeremy1706@shaw.ca if anyone can hook a brotha up.

Get out here. Hope this one fails, really. Not because the game itself, that looks like a very interesting piece of software. But go the hell with this subscription format thing. That’s lame to have to pay 15 bucks for a new car and 25 for a new track.
If they (Papyrus team) were smarter, they would go into a Aeria games sort of way. Releasing the game for free and charging for the premium content. That would make a lot more sense.

this will come out and at first will be the it game but after people open there eye’s and see how much dry this game will run them it will die away not a bad looking game i play it but when the crack it this is call the internet and it will get cracked!!!

Haha! Good luck with these prices, iRacing. Putting a little “i” infront doesnt automatically mean people will buy anything. (Or does it  )
The insane costs of MMO`s hit the sim community, I guess.

iRacing is great, blows every other sim away.
As a real racer, $13 a month to race is chump change. I spend more than that for admission per week at a real track.
