iRacing.com – Sebring On-Board Video

To accompany the earlier posted announcement of iRacing.com’s brand new Sebring Raceway, here’s first footage of the new track.

J11cee has created the following video, showing the Radical prototype around the airfield track. Just by watching the video you can tell that the track layout is spot on and the bumps have been modelled very well.

Wow! Great modelling and even on the video the textures looks awesome. Too bad the video stutters a lot :(

  • ucfquattroguy

Not too shabby. All of the little layout things that make Sebring what is it are there. There’s just one thing that I can’t understand…
    1. How does a team with millions of dollars of financial backing miss the freaking walk-over bridge before the pit entry that’s been there FOREVER!? It’s there, I should know, I camp next to it on the mid-way side of the bridge every year I go for the 12hours race.
It’s the ONE track I’m wishing there was an accurate rendition (layout-wise) that was available for rFactor.

    >How does a team with millions of dollars of financial backing miss the freaking walk-over bridge before the pit entry that’s been there FOREVER!?

I don’t understand why it does not appear on the video… maybe it’s due to low graphical settings. The bridge is on the picture of the iRacing’s member homepage
    http://www.virtualr.net/drop/viewer.php?id=46899home_sebring.jpg

It’s on the track loading screen

And I just took this screenshot

  • j11c33

I made that video, someone pasted url on irc :)
Yes the bridge doesnt show because I have turned some objects off, I run it via triplehead and had to do a small compromise to get great fps

The studder is because of a problem that happened during video capture, sry ’bout that

  • http://@nogrip Humpfester

I lived in Avon Park and all I can say this is a great job on the track, brings back a lot of good memories of March in Sebring.

    @Anonymous

That sort of crap is just as bad as some of the iracing fanboys who look down on ppl who wont/cant afford iracing:roll:

I like it, but I wont pay that much when you have some very very high quality mods & tracks in rfactor & you could use the money for other things like crack or heroin

  • Stevie

Only kidding, but its a lot of money to spend when its not even complete yet.

  • Anonymous

if they put all the content together in a box to sold for 20 bucks maybe i will buy this crap

  • navalhawkeye

Ok, maybe you don’t LIKE iracing…but there is no way you can legitimately call it crap, especially if you haven’t even tried it. You can complain about the price, but you can’t really argue about much else.

  • Anonymous

i haven’t tried? are u blind or something? lol

after to test ALL the cars and tracks … I CAN SAY IS PURE CRAP.

And yes i dont like it , i don’t want pay more than 20 bucks FOR ALL packed in a box.

If you want to contribute to this guys can buy a ferrari or a good apartment is your problem , lol.

    iRacing is a scam.

  • http://www.virtualracing.org dabona

You dont have to spend so much money…check the simbim games.
    gtr1,gtr2,gtl,race,race07,gtrEvo,Stcc….every game made 40 bucks.

And now check the iracing quality…every car is disassembled till the last screw….the tracks are 1:1 laserscanned. (not with a hand scanner)

Its a racing tool for real pro drivers….and not a simple arcade game for n00bs. Real drivers (mainly us drivers cause of the tracks ;) ) use it for training.
A lot of them say: “we save tons of tires!”

And hey Anonymous….your screeny prooves nothing….so gtfo.

  • Anonymous

haha real drivers lol , is a fucking video game , dont be nerd… its not comparable to race ON A REAL CAR.

    PS: NERD

  • Anonymous

”your screeny prooves nothing”… what prove you want … zzz

seach 4the torrent and stop talking stupidities , if you dont whant to believe me is ur problem , continue wasting your money

  • Anonymous

and .. bye bye , im getting bored of some fanboys like u

  • Anonymous

dabona, iRacing es a GAME like any other, go to drive your car with a plastic steering wheel.
    FREAK.

  • http://www.virtualracing.org dabona

i am not a fanboy…but u are telling crap…there will not be a iracing hack. Driving offline is not whole thing.
Did u ever drove a real car?
    Here some opinions moron.

Alex Gurney, 2007 Grand-Am Rolex Series Daytona Prototype Champion
“The iracing.com simulation is far and away the most realistic driving simulation I’ve ever seen. This is definitely not a ‘game’. The graphics are stunning, the tracks look virtually identical to the real thing, and the cars move and react in a way that will train you to be a better, smoother driver. I am addicted!”

Justin Wilson, F1 and Indy Car Driver
“Accuracy is the most important thing. In the iRacing simulation, the corner spacing and radii are exactly right. Bumps, camber changes, curbing, changes in surface all have an influence on the optimal line, and iRacing has that level of detail. It’s great for learning tracks and cars, but even if you already know a track, you can refresh yourself, so you’re not spending the first session getting up to speed. You can attack straight away.”

    AJ Allmendinger, Stock Car Driver
“Regardless of what you drive, for real-world racers this is a tool. It’s dead on. The bumps, the elevation changes, how you drive the track – it’s dead on.

“At Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Turn 6 is for me the toughest corner because it is so fast and so edgy. And in the sim it feels exactly the same as in real life; you kind of hold your breath and hope you come out the other end.”

Chris Dyson, 2003 American Le Mans Series LMP675 Champion
“Formula One teams have made increasing use of simulation technology over the past several years. Now, iRacing.com is bringing the same benefits to everyone else in motorsport. It’s real seat time without the cost of taking the racecar to the track. In the next few years, everyone will be using simulation to prepare for their races; the teams that adopt the technology first will have a huge advantage.”

David Green, 1994 NASCAR Busch Grand National Champion
“The iRacing sim is equally beneficial to a driver who’s brand new to the sport or someone with 20 years experience. A new driver can learn all the right skills and avoid picking up bad habits. For somebody with experience, you can reconfirm your feel for a particular track and hone your skills. Either way, you can get prepared without all the cost of going to the track and running the real cars.”

Adam Burrows, 2007 Grand-Am Koni Challenge Street Tuner Class Champion
“With the championship on the line, I used the iRacing.com simulation to prepare for the KONI Challenge finale at VIR, where I hadn’t raced for a couple of years. It’s not like a video game; the vehicle dynamics are spot on. You have to be precise because the car behaves like a real racecar. Even without physically experiencing the g-forces, I could actually sense the rotation and load transfer as if I were in the real car.”

Leighton Reese, Grand Am GT Class Team Owner & Driver, Banner Racing
“… online track time is very valuable, and I’m saving a ton on tires”

Ron Capps, NAPA NHRA Funny Car Driver
“iRacing.com for me is simply the best of both worlds. Any serious sim racer knows that Dave Kaemmer has always been on the leading edge of sim racing and that is why anytime you log onto iRacing.com, there is a good chance you will be racing against some of the best professional race car drivers in the real world. Trust me, there is no sim site more realistic, with the quality of online racing ,and more importantly the ease of use than iRacing.

“I race on iRacing.com because I know that whenever I want to race with the best real racecar drivers and the best sim racers in the world, iRacing.com is the only place to find that. You will not find any sim racing site with tracks and cars more realistic than here on iRacing and absolutely no sim site that is as easy to navigate as iRacing. Bottom line, if this is where the professionals race to stay good, don’t you think you should as well?

Don Knowles, Four-Time SCCA National Champion
“There is never enough track time, so to be able to get on a sim and experience realistic, high quality and valuable “track time” is almost unbelievable. It has changed the way racers can prepare and promises to do so even more in the future. There is not a single front row racer I know now who does not do data analysis, and in 5 or 10 years, there won’t be one who does not spend time, and save money, on the sim.”

Rob Slonaker, Professional Driving/Racing Coach and former Skip Barber Racing School Chief Instructor
“Driving the perfect lap is all about executing a plan for that lap.
The iRacing simulation is so accurate, you can develop and master that plan at a fraction of the cost of trying to do it in a real car. When you do arrive at the track after practicing on iRacing, you have all your references and you are already up to speed.”

    Eric Prill, SCCA Driver
“As the best racing drivers can attest, motorsports simulations are a very real training tool, and iRacing.com has developed and outstanding system not only for highly-paid professionals, but for the people who race every weekend across the country in SCCA events. In addition to being an outstanding training tool, iRacing provides close, organized racing that any current or potential driver can be a part of regardless of the time of day, the weather conditions outside or if you even have a race car in your garage. Whether you want to work on a particular track or just get in some additional racing, iRacing is something every racer should have.”

  • Stirling Moss

I became a fast driver training in the iRacing

  • Anonymous

    yeah , blablabla , HAHA.

im sure they get a nice bunch of money to say that sort of things

  • Anonymous

    @Stirling Moss ROFL :mrgreen:

  • Paul

Yup we get the picture what ever the f*** you name is, you dont like iracing! Others do, Ive tried it, its very accurate, but it needs more development & more content, plus i think they should give you more choice in the subscription like being able to pick a selection of tracks rather than some of the crap in the basic sub. So im not going for it yet. Lets see what ISI & simbin come up with in the next couple of years!

PS: bye bye anonymous were all getting bored of you

  • Stirling Moss

Helped me to be faster, thanks Kreammer for this tool.

  • kimi raikkonen

Im the F1 world champion thanks to iRacing

  • Lewis Hamilton

Now… im not a moron this season thanks to iRacing!

    Kimi fuck u n00b

  • Jim Clark

The iRacing is so real, kills pilots when they have a serious accident.
    I was a victim

Here a text from AJ Allmendinger.

Check out Dale Earnhardt Jr….he has his own ARCA/iracing league….he loves it.
There a lot of youtube videos where u see us pros driving sims.

  • Jhonny Bravo

So if we as an example, Jacques Villeneuve trained with the GP2…

Therefore we can say that GP2 >>>>> iRacing.

  • Jhonny Bravo

The GP2 bots >>>>>>>> the iRacing fanboy bots

  • anonymous

i’d better spent my money for some weed than this crap

  • Felipe Massa

Hey what the hell are u talking about here?

iracing is good , now i dont spin anymore on track thanks to this great tool

  • http://www.virtualracing.org dabona

@anonymous ….good thing to spend the money for both things.

I have to say…iracing is very expensive if you want everything….and i am no longer a student…so yes…i have the luxury to drive iracing.Sorry for that.

But hey….iracing costs 13Euros per month (inkl. some tracks and two cars) …isn’t this cheaper than WoW…also some leagues have fees per month.

  • rasfigjohn

    That’s $13.. I pay 8€ per month…

  • http://www.virtualr.net Montoya

I think the monthly fee is not the biggest problem for most people, the costs for additional content is.

Personally, what steers me away from iRacing is that I´m not even remotely interested in the two cars included in the base package.

  • Anonymous

various anonymous here , im not the last who smokes weed lol

and dabona , 13$ are not too much money , BUT is too MUCH money for what iRacing is…

i’m not student , the point is i i’m not stupid to waste my money on ”this”

i said it before… all the content in a box for 20 or 30 $ is a good price… no 13$ for a month , and never own the game.

thats why some of us hate iRacing…is overvalued

  • ermax18

j11c33: What was that lap, about a 2:02? I ran a 2:07. I am new to the SR8 though. I just bought it and Sebring yesterday. I am impressed with the accuracy of this track. It would be cool to see a new version for rFactor. The current rF version is way off. To bad you can’t race anyone online with this new track.

  • http://www.virtualracing.org dabona

there will be some big updates this year….
The actually license period ends in some weeks.
After that there will come more elemantary stuff.

    Further they scanned the lotus79…and…champcars.
Rumors say, that they have good connections to Porsche ;)

The only thing iRacing offers is: A very accurate Felling of driving. Therefore i love it.

  • ermax18

“The actually license period ends in some weeks”

    What are you referring to?

  • http://kabronyproductions.blogspot.com Aldo Villamil

why do people complain if you think is expensive dont race, is that simple. Sure iracing needs improvement but you dont have dumbasses crashing into you all the time, the netcode is not bad you can actually be inches a part with out crashing, FFb is the best out there, servers are great, you have structure , yes is expensive but they put all the pieces together and we pay for a service not just for the sim……. and i hope prices come down so more people can join.

  • Anonymous

Real Feel on rFactor is MUCH better than the stupid FFB on iRacing if you know how to use!

  • navalhawkeye

    @ermax18

He is referring to the iRacing seasons. Each season is 12 weeks long. It is just over halfway through right now.
