This is tempting, but nothing is wrong with NR2003/rFactor’s existing COT.

As intruiging as the prospects of laser scanned tracks and an officially licensed COTs are, I don’t think that I, or many other regular gamers, perhaps not the ones who throw all of their money at one little sub-genre, can justify the outlay.

SS.Net COT, Revamped Reloaded Tracks, and great community skins. Why would I make the switch to NRVista (expensive, doesn’t run well, limited, closed off?)

PS Does iracing support custom skins, since the only cosmetic difference between the different makes are headlights, grilles and tailights (all stickers?) The community could easily add Fusions, Camrys, Avengers and Chargers!

we have no tyre wear no engine damage, no flags they should be working on getting this implemented first. i might wait until next year as well to continue my membership

Ever think that the people that do the cars and tracks are different than than the ones that do the coding for flags, etc? Because they are. Also, don’t you think it’s a little cheaper, and easier to make an oval, and go scan it, than a 4 mile road course?

Oh, well I certainly agree with that. It’s the main reason I have zero interest in iRacing. I’ll come back to it in a year or so and see if the community has settled down and proven its viability before I decide to throw money at it. It seems like an awful expensive way to go sim racing.

There is a vibrant, dedicated, MASSIVE sim racing community for stockcar racing guys, iRacing is just putting cars and tracks in the game that will help sell it. You find them boring, many do not.

I’m sure there’s plenty of sports cars coming in the pipeline.

don’t mean to be rud but i don’t find nascar racing any fun this game is loaded with NASCAR tracks added boring cars for all this money, i can’t fight over this i have my free copy, i believe someone did not believe me before hahaha like i said time will tell

Just how long are the fans with more money than sense (my opinion, not necessarily everyones!) going to have to wait for some touring car or gran turismo action?

But surely the priority should not be churning out new cars to sell, but actually getting the racing upto standard, including a working flags integration? I believe there are several fundamental issues like this, which are still to be addressed while some are happily parting with >200$!

And you can be racing the trucks as soon as they come out, even if you haven’t touched iRacing yet. Get your SR over 3.0 before the end of this series (few weeks) and then up to 4.0 with your Class D license and you will be able to race them.
