I think the promo code was mentioned in the Race Control system. You’ll need to register to open the RC, though.

</blockquote>

Registered--still nothing.

There's an iRacing ad on the racecontrol page, but clicking it only brings me to iRacing's normal website--and normal pricing.

That's what I think he's implying.

Tim, by omission, does that mean the Spec Racer Ford will be available within two weeks?

If so, I'm signing back up!

Thanks!

I don't think the Corvette will be available within 2 weeks.

Indy cars? More like Indy car. I'm so disappointed with today's series. Why are there only single-make series? The only free series I know of are fford and f1. That's really failish.

When we get that C6R? I need a vette…

</blockquote>

The Corvette C6.R GT1 was planned for a summer release (before June iirc) but that may have changed now, I don't know. Maybe Tim can shed more light on that.

For the next season (starting in 2 weeks) the Spec Racer Ford and NASCAR Chevrolet Impala SS Nationwide car will be released.

“Indycar fans visting the series’ official homepage are currently getting a special deal from iRacing, being able to subscribe for three months for $25.”
What? Where?
I don’t see any iRacing deal/promo like that on indycar.com
I’d consider trying iRacing @ $25 for 3 months.

</blockquote>

I think the promo code was mentioned in the Race Control system. You'll need to register to open the RC, though.

And they’ll only cost slightly less than a real Indycar!
Mark: Absolutely. The Indy 500 stopped being relevant well over a decade ago. Some may even say as far back as the 60’s. (Once the likes of Jim Clark stopped coming.)

</blockquote>

You do know that the Indy 500 is the largest attended single day sporting event in the world?

I've watched F1 for many many years, although I stopped rating it as the best motorsport a few years ago now. Being from the UK you would probably think I assoiciate May with Monaco, but I don't, I associate it with the Indy 500. I've always rated Spa as the best F1 race. It's one of the few "real" racing circuits left on the F1 calander.

Anyway, on-topic, this is pretty cool news. I've found iRacing to be a bit expensive for me, but if they were to expand it to include more varity in cars and tracks I might be convinced to subscribe.

<strong><a href="#comment-19177" rel="nofollow">navalhawkeye</a></strong>:
To be honest, I doubt the first major racing event in May that most people think of is the Monaco GP. I would say 75% would say the Indy 500.
</blockquote>
That's correct here in the U.S. but wonder if that holds world wide (you said 75% as though it means the entire planet). Everyone's different - when someone says the first big race of the year - I think Daytona 24hrs - NASCAR fans think Daytona 500.

Anyway - has anyone seen that there is a Tony George Jr of Indianapolis as a member at iRacing? Makes you wonder huh? Well - they have the right tracks, so Indy cars seem a definite possibility. Although it hasn't been released yet, Long Beach was scanned a couple of years ago. ...oh well, they're the ugliest open wheel cars around, but i guess they'd be fun. I Wonder what they'd replace though? It's not like there's been much luck filling the upper level races on a regular basis unless you're the type who basically sets your night around one possible race.

I just walked in the door from three days at the Long Beach Grand Prix. It was quite a fun filled event. In the 'Expo Center', iRacing had a significant presence there, with several simulators and kind and knowledgable associates. I met Sean Siff, Event Marketing Specialist, where we spoke at great lengths about the many virtues of iRacing's business model and content. He impressed me not only with his commitment but with his passion as well. It seemed to permeate through the rest of the iRacing crew as well. I tell you, after sampling some of the content on a particular top notch race rig (believe me it's not necessary to get the fullest immersion and enjoyment out of it, but it was cool none the less), I was sucked into the world of motorsports, such was my intense concentration and focus. I couldn't help it, which tells me this program is created without any compromises or concessions to false pretenses. It will definitely be fantastic for sure if iRacing directs it's efforts to IndyRacing. If both entities make a deal and collaborate, it will be taken to the next 'step up the ladder' and truly be amazing.

I couldn’t help it, which tells me this program is created without any compromises or concessions to false pretenses. It will definitely be fantastic for sure if iRacing directs it’s efforts to IndyRacing. If both entities make a deal and collaborate, it will be taken to the next ’step up the ladder’ and truly be amazing.

Adding IRL to the iRacing franchise makes perfect sense. They've already got the majority of the Ovals in place, and probably the rest in various states of completion.

Therefore they'd only need a handful of road courses and you'd have a entire season
