The begining of next season is 2 weeks away. I highly doubt it’ll be ready for then. But I’d love to be wrong.

I don’t think the Corvette will be available within 2 weeks.

The Corvette C6.R GT1 was planned for a summer release (before June iirc) but that may have changed now, I don’t know. Maybe Tim can shed more light on that.

For the next season (starting in 2 weeks) the Spec Racer Ford and NASCAR Chevrolet Impala SS Nationwide car will be released.

Mark: Absolutely. The Indy 500 stopped being relevant well over a decade ago. Some may even say as far back as the 60’s. (Once the likes of Jim Clark stopped coming.)

You do know that the Indy 500 is the largest attended single day sporting event in the world?

I’ve watched F1 for many many years, although I stopped rating it as the best motorsport a few years ago now. Being from the UK you would probably think I assoiciate May with Monaco, but I don’t, I associate it with the Indy 500. I’ve always rated Spa as the best F1 race. It’s one of the few “real” racing circuits left on the F1 calander.

Anyway, on-topic, this is pretty cool news. I’ve found iRacing to be a bit expensive for me, but if they were to expand it to include more varity in cars and tracks I might be convinced to subscribe.

To be honest, I doubt the first major racing event in May that most people think of is the Monaco GP. I would say 75% would say the Indy 500.

That’s correct here in the U.S. but wonder if that holds world wide (you said 75% as though it means the entire planet). Everyone’s different – when someone says the first big race of the year – I think Daytona 24hrs – NASCAR fans think Daytona 500.

Anyway – has anyone seen that there is a Tony George Jr of Indianapolis as a member at iRacing? Makes you wonder huh? Well – they have the right tracks, so Indy cars seem a definite possibility. Although it hasn’t been released yet, Long Beach was scanned a couple of years ago. …oh well, they’re the ugliest open wheel cars around, but i guess they’d be fun. I Wonder what they’d replace though? It’s not like there’s been much luck filling the upper level races on a regular basis unless you’re the type who basically sets your night around one possible race.
