iRacing.com – Corvette C6.R Confirmed

In November, Dale Earnhardt Jr. hinted that a “yellow Corvette” will be added to the iRacing lineup of cars and what everybody suspected has now been confirmed: The Corvette C6.R GT1 will be making it into the sim, bringing a breath of endurance racing to iRacing.

Competing in the American Le Mans Series and the Le Mans 24 Hours, the Corvette C6.R has taken the GT1 class by storm since its debut in 2005. After a serious lack of competition in the ALMS lately, the car’s career will come to an end with a final outing at the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2009 – iRacing promises to have the car ready by then.

And before a heated discussion starts – That’s not an in-game shot above, there simply aren’t any shots of the car’s virtual version yet :wink:

    Man I thought they would give us a release date in this announcement. :) Judging by Dale Earnhardt Jr’s comments a few weeks ago, it is in it’s infant stages. I can’t wait for this one.

    It will be available at the start of iRacing’s second season in 2009, which will be April.

    No. Because the 2nd season starts the first week in February.
