Too bad when you go online for one of these epic races… there usually are about 2 or 3 guys online… when at all.
Granted I never went up to A or Pro licence. But when I bought iRacing, I did it to play the Open Wheeler Formula Fun….

Then you can only blame yourself to be lasy ass. Becouse real fun starts higher.

Yeah, everybody avoids the “fun” cups, might as well do rFactor public. (Almost)

As for getting people to race, the only car I have experienced low numbers in is the V8 Supercar. In that there is 4-5 more or less arranged races a week.

As for the vidoes I think its going to be a toss up between 1 & 2. Good work by all.

Yup, Formula Fun is worthless, almost nobody on iRacing wants to run unofficial races. ;) You’ll do much better in the Miata, which often has 4-5 races per time zone, and if you’re fast some darn quick competition (I’ve been beaten by Scott Speed in a miata race before).

If you want to check out the participation numbers, by time zone and overall, these links have them:

I don’t think that’s true. It’s just that iRacing chose their two “flagship” marketing cars for the Fun races… cars which are unpopular and beyond the ability of most iRacers to drive safely, as the Fun races and lack of official participation prove. It’s almost as if iRacing didn’t want the idea to succeed.

If those races were in D-class cars (and maybe a different vehicle each week to spice things up) I suspect the races would be much more popular. If I want to relax with iRacing (which is most of my sim time) I now go and “race” in spectator mode, but I’d much rather join a proper unofficial race.

And to be on topic… I prefer my movies to be more about the content than the fancy editing, but even I find it hard not to see Christian’s movie as a superbly designed bit of marketing, fitting the design remit very well indeed. So my head wants to volte for 1 but my heart prefers 3 or 4. So I haven’t made my mind up what to do for yet.
