iRacing – Thompson Speedway Previews + Mustang Video

iRacing has released five previews of the upcoming Thompson International Speedway that will be added to the online racing simulation’s base package free of charge in early July.

Furthermore, below is a short new preview video of the Ford Mustang FR500S that is due to be released soon. The video is not made by iRacing but by a subscriber as the car was accidentally released on the iRacing website yesterday due to a glitch. The iRacing staff quickly took the car off the service again, several subscribers were quick enough to get some laps in with the simulation’s newest road racing car though.

Opened in 1940, Thompson International Speedway is 5/8th mile paved oval racetrack located in Thompson, Connecticut. The track is known as the Indianapolis of the East and was the first asphalt-paved race track in the US. The track hosts a variety of smaller series, including the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.

Powered by a 4.6l V8-engine putting out 325hp, the Ford Mustang FR500S is an assembly-line produced racing vehicle that is eligible in various series aimed at privateer drivers, including the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup which is sanctioned by the Grand American Road Racing Association.

Update: Longer version of the Mustang video added in.

i recommend “open in new tab” (default shortcut == mousewheel-click) to view the images. for some weird reason, most of those “slideshow” scripts/addons are somewhat slow and bad.

    i always hate it when i accidentlich left-click a pic. :-)

haha, i meant “accidently”. weirdest german/englisch hybridization i ever created. i should think before typing.
