iRacing Opens iRacingworld.com

The creators of iRacing have added a new dimension to their online-based simulation by opening iRacingworld.com, the social networking site for sim racers.

Just like bigger social networks such as Myspace or Facebook, iRacingworld.com lets you upload photos or videos or start your own blog. It’s also a good place to meet fellow sim racers off-track and share your racing experience.

Best of all: iRacingworld.com is open to both subscribers and non-subscribers of iRacing’s service, giving guests the chance to get a taste of iRacing’s community.

Just because people seem to like other sims and hate iRacing, doesn’t mean people in iRacing hate all other sims.

Ok, so we have a iRacing social site now. So how about those flags, pit stops and splits? I guess that is to much to ask. :)

Hmmm I think they shouldn’t have built it solely around iRacing. I guess they did to try and make extra money but it would have been cooler if they made just a general sim racing social site.

They already announced flags and pit stops for the end of the month… lol.

Crazy, I never use my account so I missed that. I see it is on the member site:
“pit stops and yellow flags on ovals”

Why just ovals? Well it is a start I guess. Splits would still be handy though. It would only take them a few mins.

“Dave and the development team are also hard at work on other features that we hope to include in this new build, but we don’t yet know for sure which ones will be ready in time.”

Splits being such a small thing should be able to fit in this group. I am hoping the way they worded the sentence about the flags and pit stops just means that’s what people were asking for, and I am gonna assume if they can do yellows on ovals they will be able to have local yellows on road courses. Either way we are getting progress and I like it.

Are you telling me there are no split times in iRacing?

  • ermax18

It has sector times but no splits. I hope they implement controller profiles too in this update.
