iRacing.com – Version 2.0 Video Trailer

iRacing has released a new video trailer of the new 2.0 version of their online racing simulation that is launched this summer.

The trailer consists of several interviews with iRacing staff including Dave Kaemmer and iRacing spokesman Dale Earnhardt Jr, talking about upcoming improvements such as the all-new tire model.

Version 2.0 of iRacing’s popular racing simulation consists of several smaller and bigger improvements and new content items, highlighted by the much-anticipated new tire model that is due to be launched tomorrow. Furthermore, version 2.0 will also introduce improved graphics & sounds, driving aids and more.

Good video, I can’t wait for August. Hopefully they will release everything on time *fingers crossed*

  • Manibal

    I very hilarious the video..,
Looks like the iRacing, feel like iRacing but only with some new little thinks, the 90% are still the same…
Repeat with me, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST, iRacing are the BEST.

Anyway will be more interesting that use some more modern marketing tactics to sell the PRODUCT
They say they make the best simulator doesn’t justify at all and don’t make that “true” in a REAL true…
BTW only the sheepheads’ will believe…

    O:-)

  • Richard Osborne

??? I don’t understand this post at all.

  • gadaga

    Yes…. fully agree… it’s a video about me me me me (= iracing)… it’s so “american style”… drama… dramatic.. it can make europeans (amongst others…) lauch… a lot…

    Mind you… I love iRacing…

  • Manibal

    In others words
The OW in NetKar Pro >>>>> iRacing 2.0, 5,0 7.3, 1/2 or 10000000000.0 version. A “new” name only because rFactor “”"”"”2″”"”"” will be released this year and iRacing sound “old” vs the new game of ISI.
BTW the new NASCAR car with the “new” tires was going to be released 6 months ago?, they are waiting for the demo of rFactor 2? hahahaha pffffff

  • Dave A.

The right word is: boring *DONT_KNOW*

  • Paul Mullins

I think someone is getting nervous about rFactor2 ;)

  • Meton Sanga

saying nkpro is better than iracing is a joke, saying its better than 2.0 is even more so!

dont shoot the messenger its not my fault you are unemployed and cant pay to play

  • Slawomir Wiszczor

I totally agre with you, I have tried all simulations on the market and iRacing is the best, the only comparable sim for me is RBR but this is different sort of motorsport.

  • Noel Hibbard

A please Meton, stop with the no job crap. There are plenty of people here with jobs that don’t think iRacing is worth it.

  • Gonzas – HistorX Team.

i dont know if i will renew my supcription or not , maybe yes, but i could use all those money to rent a real maseratti or a 911 and make 5 laps in a real circuit.  15 minutes , but i will remember those 15 minutes for all the year.

i do not remember even my latest race at iracing.

is the best simulator anyway and seems that it will be even better.

  • Manibal

Menton, I didn’t say anything about the price… nice fail
    Try again  ;)

  • phil23

I’ll be giving it a go in August when I can try the tyre model on road cars. I’m not interested in testing it on an oval (in a car I don’t want to buy) as I doubt you’ll fully appreciate the new model just turning left!!!

  • gerrymodo

There will be tons of road course hosted session with it I’m sure, probably an unofficial series as well.

That said, I am in the same boat, not sure if I wanna buy a car Ill probably use just for this NTM test.

  • Carbonfibre

If they said iRacing 1.5 I would have believed it, but it’s difficult not to be biased against iRacing as the massively funded corporation against a small passionate team of people at ISI.

Saying that, I haven’t seen or heard “improved graphics & sounds” from either camp yet, and I’m too shallow to be sold a tyre model using trailers, S2U ruined everything in that respect. Where’s the big reveal to get me really pumped?

  • stabiz

With the delay it actually debuts on Road America. :-D  That is probably annoying for many of the oval racers but perfect for me, as its the only round of the Nationwide series I planned to do.

  • gerrymodo

The reasoning for calling it 2.0 is more of a, “Here’s where we have come so far” sort of thing. If you look at the build we had even just a year ago, you can see a huge improvement in the game. Adding the most advanced tyre model of any sim, plus driver swaps, and a huge amount of new features coming in August, I think it fully deserves the 2.0 name.

iRacing is no huge developer also, you got the funding part correct but it is not like EA or Codemasters.

  • Manibal

The only reason will be named “2.0″ is because rFactor “2″ will be released this year and iRacing (alone) sounds old.  Shitty marketing

  • Robert H.

And also to make unsubscribed/ex-members think it’s all new and try it again, which I wont.

  • Riches

Well so many other programs/games/sims go from one version to the next without adding too much substancially.
    Is more a marketing thing.
But seeing the enourmous amount of things and updates that got added the last years and will be added after august.
It well deserves the version number 2.0.

  • Tó Mané

I’ think they start to realize whats coming.
…If you now what i mean!

  • Bakkster

Actually, iRacing is supposed to be doing some shader improvements, as well as driver animations an graphics improvements on some of the older cars. There are also some big aditions like driver swaps and a tournament system for hosted racing.

Also, ISR just did a review of the NTM they tried at E3:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rg0GCKlQXck

That said, I don’t think that just because iRacing is larger and better funded it makes them any less passionate. I’m pretty sure Dave K and crew would be doing what they’re doing now whether they had solid financial backing or not, they just got lucky that a millionaire is a big fan ;)

  • Meton Sanga

same here stabiz, besides daytona and dega, i dont use the nw much, unless i see a hosted road race

  • phil23

I forgot the car could be run on road courses :-E . I’m still ooking forward to trying it in August once it’s rolled out properly. I hope everyone who tries it can give us some thoughts though ;) .

  • Bakkster

    @Robert:
That all depends why they quit, doesn’t it? If it’s how it drove, then 2.0 should be exactly what they need. If it was cost and features of hosted racing, they should be happy too. If it’s content prices, then no it won’t make them come back.
