iRacing.com – New Daytona Previews

iRacing.com has released a batch of previews of their new Daytona International Speedway that is due to be released in a few days.

The new version of Daytona brings the recent changes to the world famous venue has undergone to iRacing, including a new and much smoother driving surface, an altered backstretch chicane as well as a night version.

The updated track will be free for all owners of the current 2007 version, iRacing subscribers have the chance to purchase the old version until February 14 and receive the new one for free. iRacers who prefer the much bumpier old version will be able to enjoy that one as well as both versions will remain in the simulation.

I love that it has the ferris wheel and ‘turn here, dummy’ arrows at the chicane and T1 :)

“That’s two tracks (and three skies!) for the price of one”. I wonder how much they would charge for day/night transition version.

    Nothing i hope :)

If everyone gets the rescan for free who owns the old one, why would they charge for transitions? They didn’t charge extra for the moving ferris wheels here and at Suzuka, either.

Greg Hill just confirmed on the forums that the dusk is the night sky for the oval. The road course has daytime or midnight.
