iRacing.com – Interlagos Production Delayed

Back in January, iRacing.com announced that the Autodromo Carlos Pace, better known as Interlagos, would expand the simulation’s track portfolio.

Scanning work was scheduled to start in spring but for the first time, iRacing has run into substantial problems during the process that prevented them from completing the data accusation.

“It’s true that the trip was unsuccessful due to problems getting equipment through customs. We completed the photography but not the scan,” iRacing’s Greg Hill explained. “We are actively working on other avenues to complete the data collection and it is still our hope to create this great racetrack. For now at least, the track will most certainly be delayed until things are more certain.”

While this is bad news for all iRacing subscribers who were waiting for the Brazilian track, fans of British circuits can rejoice as iRacing has put some of the planned development time onto Oulton Park, another of the several tracks currently in development.

    i heard that they want to make some changes to curva do sol & the kink on the start/finish straight because of fatal accidents in stock car brazil asap. maybe thats the reason.

    No, the reason it isnt going ahead is Brazilian customs wouldn’t release the teams scanning equipement.

    It seems our subscriptions weren’t enough to cover the bribe required.. ;)

    I’m from Brazil, but I Lol’d. Brazilian customs are unbelievably slow, inneficient and corrupt.

    I think Iracing.com should wait, because the last turn (curva do café) will surely change, by the end of the year. After F1 race, I think.

    Brazilian customs can be hell, know all about it.
    These people just keep your stuff for weeks, when they feel for it.
    If you need equipment imported make sure you have Brazilian people helping you out.
    Visit the customs office so much they get tired of you.
    Than finally send you away wih the gear.
