iRacing.com has released first previews of Circuit Park Zandvoort, showing the first track from mainland Europe to join their simulation in a 40%-finished state.
Opened in 1948, Circuit Park Zandvoort has hosted 30 editions of the Dutch Formula One Grand Prix, today’s layout is 4.18 kilometers long and consists of 11 turns.
Located in the near-beach dunes, the track is notorious for sand being blown on track. The layout is made up of slow and quick corners as well as many elevation changes that make Zandvoort a rather tricky place to drive. Even though Formula One is long gone, the track still hosts many major events, including DTM & WTCC touring car racing as well as an annual A1GP event.

Layout seems spot on. I’m still no fan of the graphic engine.

Wow, looks very nice!
Although it is the best looking sim to date, they are planning on updating their gfx engine within next 8 month as well as the sound engine and a lot of other stuff :P

Even with an old-engine, iRacing still has what probably is my favourite graphics out there: the light on the scene is absolutely amazing! Maybe one day I’ll finally decide to jump in again. ^^

You’re funny. Old engine, nice texture i give you that, down average cockpit.
No shadows as good as rFactor. No 24h lighting engine such as rFactor.
In 8 month i’ll hope rF 2 will be out there

Altough I’d love to race with iRacing, I simply don’t have the money for it…
It’s just to expensive for me ATM.

Great track I visit this track very often. it’s a shame but there is not a single virtual track that has the height of the second to last corner don like it is supposed to be, it’s actually a lot higher then it’s in rfactor,F1-challenge,life for speed and now also in iRacing

Please, can we see some examples with video or screenshots :)
Yeah, 24 hour lighting would be fantastic, even GTL had that and it sure did look very nice :)

Yep, but they do have one fictional track: Centripetal Circuit

Zandvoort for LfS, since when? :P

Thats because GTL and rFactor shared the same graphical engine.

Every single track they do is laser scanned. It’s very unlikely they will release on that is not.

Once you try racing iRacing in full HD, many of us would really start to apreciate the graphics engine. There is no sim out there that looks more realistic and crsp. It is a fact that on screenshots and video´s the real value does not show itself.
You have to try it hands on.

If you have a fast pc, iracing looks great in high res with shadows etc. Screen shots never show the truth of how good or bad the graphics actually are. You have to see it in motion. I didn’t see where they mention if it comes with multiple layouts or not. I think there are 4 or 5 for this track.

I been to this track quite a few times. I think it’s spot on. You must have been to another Zandvoort

Ahh, so that info was only released in the forums. I guess membership does have its privileges.
Might help bring in new sales if they advertise that stuff outside the service. I’m sure they will when it’s 100% done.

Well, they gave a preview to members…and was only posted on the forums by one of the devs. When it’s released I could see that, but since it was only a preview.

I was about to say, Unk, will people really have time to worry about bloom and HDR when they’re hauling ass in a Williams FW31?

Yeah, that is going to be EPIC.
Hopefully they will get some of the F1 tracks, when they are at it. But Mosport, Zolder, Zandvoort, Laguna seca, Brands hatch and Mid Ohio could keep me busy for a while :P
