iRacing.com – Dallara DW12 Indycar Announced

Following the announcement of the BMW Z4 GTE earlier this week, iRacing announced the next addition to their online racing simulation as the Dallara DW12 Indycar joins the title.

Named DW12 in honor of the late Dan Wheldon, the current-spec Indycar chassis is being used since the start of the 2012 Indycar Series season.

iRacing has already been busy caputuring reference material of the new car this week, including sound recordings at Sebring International Raceway

The car has been announced for over a year or so. But now they finally have the data.

    • Adrian Herrera

Looking forward to driving the beta version of this car with in-progress tire model in 2015

      • Marc Collins

Hope that was a typo and you meant 2014…

      • Adrian Herrera

        no typo, pure sarcasm.

      • Marc Collins

What’s your sarcastic answer to whether iRacing will offer this at a discount to those of us who have suffered through the old chassis car for years? Sorry, but the FFB on it has been sub-par since Day 1. Also, they need to do two versions of the car: road course and oval and not charge extra to have both.

      • Adrian Herrera

        Yes.

      • Niel

Why 2 versions? The car we have now has two versions too. A road and an oval config, the correct configuration will be selected automatically.
Probably the same this will apply when the DW12 is out.

    Less announcements and more releases!

  • Markus Ott

I loved the old Indycar, but the new ones look too ugly.

There’s already an IndyCar in the game, right?

    • Ozan Ülkügil

      yes,old chassis

New Indycar is all well and good, but when are they going to address the insane crash physics and wonky netcode?
